Well I was thinking about booking Delta out of MCO an evening flight that was perfect and they went up right before my eyes. It now costs $30 more a person. Does anyone know about Deltas fares. Should I jump on this fare for July 2nd out of orlando @ $150 or wait and see if it goes down. I hate this waiting game. Usually book in advance but we are planning a last min. trip.

Since it is for the second and that is a three day weekend it may go up as people casually start to plan trips for the weekend.

If you try:
www.bing.com/travel/flights

It is really nice to compare prices and find flexible times. As easy as any other site I've even seen. But I point it out because, if you are flying to and from a semi major airport it has a price predictor.

You might check some other sites like expedia and travelocity. Sometimes I have noticed they still have seats at the old price. But to answer your question, Delta does go up and down quite a bit - but no guarantees.

There are only so many seats available in each fare class (those are those letters you see when booking - L, T, K, Y etc) and once that fare class is sold out, any seats purchased after that will automatically move up to the next more expensive fare class (that's why sometimes you'll get a more expensive price from the time you've picked your flights to the time you actually pay for them).

More than likely the fare will go up further rather than go down.

That's what I was thinking. I think I'm going to book it at the new rate and just be happy I'm going to WDW.

the Delta flights I'm watching went up $30 and then back down $20 in the last couple of weeks and the link above still shows the higher price as oppossed to the lower price on Delta.com. I have always had the best success using the airline's direct website and typically find the best fares 2 1/2 to 3 months out. I also look 2-3 times per day.

Tip: For shopping prices on the web.

If you shop site for anything, if the site is sophisticated it will raise the price if you look repeatedly. It like if you goto a car lot 3 times the first two you tell the sales person you are just looking. The third time the sales person will know you are more than looking. You must be interested in some thing in particular.

On the internet you can stop this by clearing your cache and cookies after viewing. The next time you view the site it won't know you have looked before, and can't raise the price based on your continuous interest.
