Does Coronado Springs have Disney magic?

We are going to WDW in July and are definitely staying at Poly for 3 nights. To save money, we want to go to a different resort for our remaining 4 nights. We are debating between WL (which we loved) and Coronado Springs. My question is, does CS have the same magical feeling as WL and Poly? We stayed at POR Riverside last summer and liked it but didn't love it.

Only reason to not stay at WL is to try something new (I like the theme of CS) and to save a little more money.

We plan to spend most of our Poly days at MK and Epcot to take advantage of the monorail, and then more time at MGM and AK (and of course back to MK) for the remainder.

Thanks for any advice!

CSR was our least favorite moderate. We stayed there twice and I didn't feel the magic there. I am sure the CSR lovers will tell you otherwise.

That's so true. For us, CSR is great and has plenty of Disney magic and our least favorite is CBR.

Everyone has different ideas on what is right for them. Check out my website below and see if CSR is a place you would like to visit. For me, I don't need to be surrounded by Disney 24/7. As long as I get my CSR magic, that is all that matters.

Here is a thread similar to yours that you can check out.

Convention resort - some guests don't like seeing other guests at work. Doesn't bother us and helps keep the buses and the pool area empty. GF, Cont, BW, Y & B Club are also convention resorts.

CSR was our least favorite resort. It's very pretty and well-landscaped, but all the business people roaming around (and they were everywhere) took any Disney magic right out of the atmosphere for us.

CSR is great! We loved strolling around the lake at night, stopping at the hammocks on the white sand beaches. The conventioneers did not interfere with our stay on bit. The buses did seem less crowded because of the conventions though.

Thanks for the replies. Mario your website is great! BTW, my kids will be 7 and 5 when we go. Anyone else have advice?

Stayed there with my 13 yr old daughter Aug. 2004. We both loved it. Bus service was great, pool area very nice and if we didn't want the volume of younger kids we went to the very quiet pool. Morning stroll, (5 mins) to get coffee was a wonderful way to gear up for the parks.

I found it a very relaxing place after a busy day. Didn't even see anyone in suits that I can recall. We stayed in Cabanas and I think conventioners usually stay in Casitas.

Other resorts we've stayed at: Contemporary (Very Noisy), Dolphin(Love it), Beach Club(OK but thin walls), AKL (standard room, no upgrade, very uncomfortable beds).

I love CSR and in particular the Rancho's section. It is the section all the way to the back of the resort and as a result a bit quieter. It is still only a short walk to the main pool.

Overall CSR is relaxing and peaceful. The main pool has some of the best pool theming of any of the resorts in my opinion. I like the Pepper Market due to the fact that you get real silverware and a cloth napkin. You have a designated table and don't have to roam around looking for a place to sit when you already have your food.

We find CSR to be very magical-from the theme, grounds, rooms, food court and overall service-CSR is the best! :sunny:

CSR is our favorite moderate resort!! The theming is great and yes it is magical. I am sure you will have a great time. :)

We stayed at CSR and loved it-not worried about Disney majic though, so maybe we're not the ones to ask. We had no towel animals and didn't see any characters, but we loved the special care for my allergies at the Pepper Market, and we loved being able to ship our purchases home cheaply at the business center, and dropping in on a health expo (labor day weekend) that got us free water bottles, personal fans, and cardholders. It was quiet, we were in the cabanas so we had no long walks, and our wait for busses was very good (we visited AKL while there and their wait for busses was longer; so was the wait at the Yacht and Beach Club). We enjoyed the little critters we saw (my daughter still hasn't caught an anole lizard, but we did catch a tree frog)-including the armadillo who ran across the bus stop waiting area, much like the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. We loved the size and peacefulness of the pool (pools are very important to us-we won't stay at AKL again because we don't like the pool). So all around, we were happy with our stay there. Next time we might try WL just because we haven't been there, but if we don't like it, we'll move to CSR again. :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the advice. Looks like we will split our stay 4 nights at POLY and 4 nights at CSR. I am excited to try something new and I love the Mexican theme. I just hope we can get in to a convenient building like Cabana 9B.

We loved the theming and my DD's loved the pool and the slide. It was definitely our favorite moderate. The buses were a short wait. The Pepper Market was very good and had a lot to choose from. Hope you enjoy it.

:earsgirl: :earsboy: My family just loves CSR. They have the best pool of the moderates thats including the pool slide which is my kids favorite of the mods. They have a really cool playground ( my kids favorite overall) and when we were there, there was a lot going on for the kids. They have two arcades and play areas in the gift shops and lobby. They have bushes in the shape of characters all around the resort. My 8 yr old was just asking if we could stay there again. We also rented a surry bike ( look for the hidden mickey in the sidewalk) and a boat. Had a great time here! :flower: :flower:

:teeth: :teeth: So funny you say that because we didn't see any of that when we were there but we did see that at CBR and Contemp. But it didn't take away from our vacations. Hey one year at the Contemp we met Ted Kennedy. We always spot celebs at the parks. :smooth: :cool1:

What an interesting question! We stayed at CSR in Cabanas 2003 and now I think about it, for me it wasnt really Disney magic onsite. But just being onsite and knowing everyday we were off to the parks was Disney magic enough for my family im sure! I loved the landscaping; the white soft sandy beach outside our room, the hammocks slung invitingly between the palm trees, the individual smaller pools virtually empty whenever we chose to dive right in, the Mayan Grill with yummy over the top but oh so nice puds, the Pepper Market with its garishly wonderful coloured banners. Yep fantastic as it was I cant really say I felt the Disney magic here. Or for that matter at the CBR when we went there either. All Stars was great Disney theming and the kids thought it the best although I personally felt it was a lot of concrete compared to other places we had stayed. Am trying POR this year so will see how that goes but thank you for this, for me, thought provoking thread!

we just got back from CSR last night. Yes, the resort was nice, but in our opinion, did not have the Disney Magic. The resort if VERY spread out. We were in the Casita section, which was a pretty far walk to the Pepper Market & main pool area. (yes, they have the golf carts that take you around, but they are not always around when you need them) There were so many conventioners that one day at the pool, i thought i was in Cancun on Spring Break. People drinking, smoking all over the place!! Could not find a lounge chair at the Dig Site or the quiet pool near the Casitas. The conventioners are what I think make this resort unmagical. I don't like sitting at the pool and having a group of people next to me talk about their big presentation or managers meeting they have to attend. The rooms were nice, pepper market very convienant, and the dig site was great. However, we would not stay here again.

Have stayed at CSR twice and both times had a wonderful time. Leaving Tuesday Octo4 for 7 nites 8 days and we are going back to CSR. Have stayed at WL, CS, Poly, POFQ, enjoyed them all, but love CSR. Have a great time wherever you stay! :)
