Does Columbia Harbor House have an elevator?

My husband has a scooter. We usually do sit down meals, but the next trip we are going to do more quick service so we don't have to be tied down. Is there an elevator to the second floor? We would like to eat out of the way.

Not an elevator like you expect, but yes. The disABILITIES Forum would provide better information.

There is also a handicap seating section downstairs that is reserved behind a rope. We didn't feel like we were in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

Thanks for the info. We don't care what the elevator looks like as long as it works. We also heard we might be able to snag a view on the second floor. Thanks for the heads up about the first floor reserved seating area too.

We usually sit on the second floor too, but when we took my mom who's in a wheelchair, they directed us to the roped off area. It's in a nice area in the back corner on the first floor, and I thought it was out of the way.

I wish we'd known about that. Maybe if you go at prime lunch time, it's too busy for anyone to show you, at least that may be what happened to us. However, I would like to know how/if you can get upstairs if you use a scooter.

We were just there and to our knowledge there weren't elevators. There is ample seating on the first floor, so actually no need for scooters upstairs.

Thanks for this thread. I don't think we will eat there because hubby won't want to ask someone to use the elevator. Any other suggestions on quick service places to eat that might have a view and the food is decent?
why not just sit downstairs? the few times I've been there I've always sat downstairs. Even if you could walk upstairs there is no guarantee of a window table/view.

that said pinocchio's has a view into IASW... however again no guarantee you'll get a good table for it and IMO the food is much better at CHH

The atmosphere upstairs isn't that different or even more quiet from downstairs. If you're interested in the food, don't let the lack of elevator discourage you!

I thought it was a less chaotic upstairs. Maybe some folks don't know there IS an upstairs, or just don't want to balance their food trays walking up steps.

There is a little room downstairs that has just 4 (or maybe 6) tables in it that we've eaten in before and it was just as quite as upstairs.

JUST TO TEST THE ELEVATOR THEORY:
1) We were at MK last night and I was using my scooter with my crutches bungee-corded to the unit.
2) We asked if we could use the elevator and go to the second floor so we could eat and "have a view".
3) We were told this was not possible.
4) I asked about exceptions, as listed in the above posts.
5) The manager said occasionally this can be allowed, but only for specific circumstances (upon which he did elaborate).
6) Obviously a scooter and crutches does not automatically fall into the circumstances category

The only real "view" you're going to get on the 2nd floor of CHH is of people walking around...the same view you get outside any restaurant at Disney World all day, every day. It's really nothing to attempt to go out of your way for at all.

I still find sitting upstairs in the "bridge" "unique" and people-watching as Guests travel between Liberty Square and Fantasyland down below to be a "unique" dining view and very fun,but maybe that's just me-I am easily entertained!lol:)

Doesn't seem less chaotic to me. As long as you are away from the 'ordering' area, it is fine downstairs!
