Does change in package affect already obtained ADRs?

176 days to go! We booked our package through AAA last August and have been excitedly counting down the days. At 180 days out we made all of our ADRs and were able to get all our restaurants and preferred times - YAY! Tomorrow will be booking two tours. Last weekend my daughter booked the same dates for Disney at her local AAA which we linked through MDE to ours, so now it's a complete family reunion - double YAY!! They told her that she could change her reservation through them in the event Disney came out with free dining plan or another discount. My question - if a change is made in a package reservation to reflect free dining/lower rate, does it cancel out ADRs and tour reservations that are booked or can they be transferred to the new reservation number? While I'd love free dining (or a discount) I'm not sure I want to try for it if it means losing reservations I probably won't be lucky enough to get again.

(I know there are currently no discounts announced yet but the Disney specialist at AAA seems to think the odds are good. Since we would have to jump quickly, I'd rather know now the consequences)

No, ADRs will not be affected.

You do not need a resort reservation to even make an ADR or book a tour. They are unrelated

They'll just automatically transfer to the new reservation number ... you just made my day! Now fingers crossed for a mid to late August discount

They don't automatically transfer to anything. Resort reservations and ADR reservations are completely separate from each other. So are tour reservations. On the flip side, if you end up cancelling your trip, you also have to cancel your ADR's. ADR's don't cancel out just because you cancel a resort reservation. Millions of people make ADR's and tour reservations every year without staying at a WDW property.

Thanks for clarifying for me! I was confused with needing to have on-site reservations to make the ADR's 180 out so I thought they were tied to that reservation # therefore if that # changed due to changing a package everything linked to it would be cancelled. Good thing there are knowledgeable people on this board to help nervous newbies like me
