I know this has been asked a million times. I can't find it on the boards. So my apologies for being redundant!
We're headed down for a week in November, which is when we have an offsite timeshare week. Right now, the HS EMMH is scheduled to end before we arrive but, juuuuust in case they extend it a little longer, we booked an onsite one night, room only reservation during our week (overkill? probably. but getting into SWGE is super-important to several members of the group). Our park tickets were purchased separately and I've made the ADRs, but everything is of course linked through the MDE app. My question is - if I cancel the room (which may be after even the 30 day window, depending on what Disney does with the HS hours....nothing to do but wait on that....), will we lose any FPs we book for the days we have the room reservation? It appears I will not lose any ADRs, but I can't tell about the FP.
Since our primary interest is SWGE, FP isn't super-important and our goal here isn't to "beat" the system by reserving FPs for other things at the 60-day mark and then cancel the hotel later. We're more worried that whether to cancel the hotel would be an almost trip time decision and we don't want to lose FPs at the last minute, as there's not chance to get them back (since we expect any cancellation would be even well after the 30 day window). Also, as a one-night reservation means two days, we don't want it affecting any FP plans on the non-HS day. We're just trying to prioritize whether we hedge on the chance for EMMH for SWGE or if we need to cancel at 31+ regardless so that we can keep whatever FPs we can get.
