We just used this service last week. They were very prompt on picking up and dropping off. It was slow when were picking up the car-people in front of us-if you are "fast break" member (we are one) counter sevice is fast once there.
yes, i just read that last week in another thread, the poster also add that she drops the dh , kids and the luggage at the port and takes the rental back to the rental place, then she takes the shuttle to the port and by that time dh has checked in already and all she has to do is get her ktt card.
I am currently trying to figure out what mode of transportation we will be taking from WDW to Port and then back to the airport after the cruise. Just wanting to see if I understand what you guys have said so far, if we rent a car from Budget for the drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral, they have a shuttle service to take us to the port once we drop off the car? Do they also have a shuttle from the port back to the Budget office at the end of the cruise?
That's what I understand... but I'd also like to know do the Budget people have to know ahead of time you are going to use the shuttle? Or does it run all day onport days??
Yes there is a shuttle from the Budget office right to the ship. There are also shuttles that run back to Budget (I believe Avis also has an office nearby) the day they kick you off the ship. You don't need reservations for the shuttle, they automatically make the circuit picking up passengers from the ships. On our cruise last November, I think we waited a grand total of 5 minutes for the Budget shuttle to pick us up once we got off the ship.
Can you tell me your experience using FastBreak? Haven't signed up yet. We're coming into MCO Wednesday evening. Didn't know if that would be a busy time. Can you use FastBreak at the Cocoa Beach location, or is it just bigger offices? Thanks.
We will be picking our car up from budget at MCO the day before
our cruise dropping it off the next day at thier location at port (CC5) and then
picking it up again after cruise for four more days at WDW (ShadesofGreen).and
then dropping it off at MCO. And yes it is a fast break location.
I set up our reservations yesterday for using Budget in November. Just wanted to let you all know that there is a discount available if you are a UPromise member (colllege savings for your kids). Also found out... after the fact... that you can potentially get college savings by booking a DCL cruise through them also.
The discount was a few dollars, but I'd rather be spending those dollars onboard or at WDW than with the car rental.
Thanks for all the helpful info. Does anyone know if there is a Budget rental office close to WDW? We will be staying there before our cruise and plan on using Disney's transportation from MCO to WDW. We just need to pick up a car Saturday morning for the drive over to the port.
We used the Budget Car rental shuttle last August and it worked great. My husband dropped the family & luggage off at the pier pre-cruise. Then returned the car and took the shuttle bus back to meet us at the pier. We did the reserve post-cruise & it worked fine.
The Fastbreak was very fast at MCO-skipped the lines and went to garage. Not too fast at Port Canaveral-only one person working on Sundy morning. The pick up was very fast at port it was just getting the car once a t rental place.
