Does Bonnet Creek give owners nicer rooms compared to renters?

I planned a vacation for 2 weeks in July at Bonnet Creek. I found an owner through Tug and every thing is set. I confirmed my reservations with BC.

Since my stay at BC is from Tuesday to Tuesday, it is broken down into 4 reservations. Will BC make us change rooms 4 times or do they usually make a person stay in a room for a week before changing rooms?

I've been reading a lot of reviews and majority have been very good, but I notice that some people say that since they are renters they don't get the better rooms. Some same as renters their rooms view garbage dumps or they end up in rooms with torn furniture.

Do most renters end up in rooms with terrible furniture and horrible views? When you check in and agree to go on the timeshare sales pitch, will BC give you a nicer room?

Does BC have nicer rooms that are just for owners? If the owner I rent from is VIP, does that make a difference?

I know the room I get could be luck of the draw, but my 80-year old mother and my aunt who is in her late 70's are coming. If I end up in a horrible room my mother will be extremely upset. Everything little thing bothers her and if I have to switch rooms because of ripped furniture or things are broken and don't work it will destroy her vacation.

Bonnet Creek looks so nice and I think the kids would have a great time.

As for changing rooms, BC will do everything possible to not have to do this, because each time you change rooms BC has to pay a cleaning fee.

As far as the room, I believe it's all about timing and asking for what when you arrive (unless you have presidential reserve unit that is preassigned). There's one room on every floor by the trash room and someone has to occupy it.

As far as a garbage dump view - I' don't believe there is a dump onsite. Perhaps a dumpster, but not a dump.

Nearly all owners who rent points are Plat VIP, if you're not you can't really offer a competitive price. VIP privieges are not extended to the renter (and trust me aside from the point discount the privileges are marginal).

Sounds like mom is a glass half empty kind of person. My mom is too and that's why we don't vacation with her.

The resort does NOT as a matter of policy treat owners to nicer rooms than renters. In fact, because of the way Wyndham in general is set up, all they can tell is if someone is an owner, Is this their home resort (the Wyndham resort they own at), or are they a guest. They have no way to know if the guest is someone who paid the owner $1000 to rent a reservation, or if the guest is the owner's mother/daughter/mother-in-law/etc.

Most of what you will see from people complaining about the fact they rented and got mistreated are going to be people who think that because they aren't owners, they are being treated unfairly. Somtimes this is because of an impression the sales staff will give off in an attempt to sell a contract (Just because they say "give me $20k and you'll be treated better around here!", doesn't mean it's true. In fact.... It could be argued you'd be treated worse. :rotfl: ).... and sometimes it's just an assumption they jump too because everything wasn't perfect with their stay. [sometimes it's fair. sometimes it's because they are expecting a hotel and not a timeshare resort, or they are expecting "disney magic"].

That being said.... There could be a slight bias with some smaller things, such as room requests. There is nothing concrete which I have to back this up.... but as the resort has become more and more popular with renters.... and the idea of "requesting a view" and the instructions on how to do so have been made more commonplace, There could be a bit of bias in this aspect of things. Since views are simply requests, and not a matter of inventory classes/categories... and some requests are more popular than others... there have been some suggestions that the resort staff does have a bit of an internal grading system which they use when attempting to grant requests. example: 20 people request a fireworks view, but they only have 15 rooms available which offer such a view, They could use criteria such as VIP status, Owner, Home resort, Length of stay, Reservation age [IE... was the reservation made 10 months ago? or 30 days ago?], or is this a guest certificate in determining which reservations will be assigned rooms that meet that request.

however, as i mentioned, there is nothing available beyond pure speculation to back up this theory.... and when it comes to requests, remember they are just requests and in no way guaranteed [owner or not].... but the more possibilities you give them in meeting the request, the more likely it'll be met.

We arrived at bonnet creek today. When we checked in, they did not have a firework view available. But, I was very pleasant to the lady at the desk and got assigned a room in tower 1. In any event, we got to the room and we were randomly given a presidential unit, as opposed to the deluxe on our reservation (now maybe it was who we rented who did this?). Anyways, it was a pleasant surprise. We overlook the parking lot, but can see the golf course beyond. 3rd time here, and still just as happy!

As an owner at Bonnet Creek, I can honestly tell you that we don't get better units. We get the same units that everyone else gets. When I check in, there is no mention of me being an owner there. I have never seen it mentioned anywhere on our reservation or check-in paper work. The only place it has been mentioned is over at the sales desk (aka parking pass desk). If you're already an owner, they can't offer the initial sales pitch, so they have to know that information. That's the only place I've ever seen ownership mentioned while staying at BC.
