piece of car ramp metal with Barbie's yellow Corvette seat? oh I was wrong, this one's got Goose's ejection seat hanging from a coat hanger, yeah that's so much better, and it does what, 65 mph on that piece of pipe? I couldn't even glue Spongebob's hands to his toilet paper roll arms, how are we gonna stick to a metal pipe? and it's painted green, there is NO SUCH THING AS MAGIC GREEN PAINT! ok, chill you only live once, but I like to live, well you'd jump in front of a moving car to save ds wouldn't ya? ok, I'm not a wus, no problem, just breath, smile, don't scare Hulk Jr, he's been marking his height on the wall for 3 years, no wait! it does what? :scared:

Seriously, does it help? I don't get sick, I just drive myself crazy in line. :headache:

Judging by your post its not a very long drive....Kiddin :)

My Aunt used dremamine and she was able to do Hulk w/o a prob. She hated Simpsons(/scratches head) and felt sick after that but she was fine on all the other rides.

Chat on the phone, text, play games, listen to music...do em all in line to take mind off it if it worries you. Not that harsh of a coaster imo and fun.

I get motion sickness pretty easily...like if I am not driving the car. That said, Bonine has gotten me thru Back to the Future, Star Tours , Mission Space reglar non-wimpy side, Hulk, Kraken and DS learning to drive. Biggest bonus, it does not knock me out! As far as anxiety...ummm, nope. You best be going Margaritaville frst to solve that dilemma.

Do like Ellen did and bring a flask ;)

I like this idea! I have issues with many rides but now that my 11 YO DD wants to do them, I suck it up figuring I have to be braver than her. It is always fine at the end. And, mostly fun too.

And, no, the motion sickness drugs won't help with anxiety. See if you can find some "Calms" at a local health food store or Whole Foods if you have one nearby. They help and are over the counter.

:lmao: Thanks you all, and yes it's a short drive. I didn't get that way until I hit 40 :headache:

I'm actually not as bad as dh. The last time he rode the rock-n-roll one at Disney, the picture showed him with his head down, almost on ds's shoulder, eyes scrunched shut, and his fists clenched up by his chin. I do manage to open my eyes and have fun once I'm on them.

So it doesn't make you brave huh? Darn, maybe a half shot of Irish courage at Finnegan's might do it. I didn't think about that. :woohoo: :thumbsup2

Too funny about Ellen. I'll have to look that up.

I did look up this site and watching it over and over is actaully helping. I guess it's the unknown that gets me.

Thanks, might get some anyway for Jimmy Puketron. ;)

Just watch all the 10 year olds happily enjoying the thrill rides. That should help convince you that the rides are not torture or illness inducing devices.

 I hope you have several copies of that pic safely tucked away! My DH knows me very well and would know I wouldn't hesitate to use that to my advantage!

My wife takes Bonine and she says it helps a little. She will not go on Hulk or DD again, but she will tolerate the Mummy now.:lmao:

Yea I take xanax when I fly and there's turbulence, which seems to be every time now,lol
So bonine and dramamine will help if you have motion sickness issues. I suffer from anxiety and I find if I just get in line and don't think about it too much, Im fine. If you sit there and watch every car take off and obsess over it, yea you will get anxious.
To me, Hulk bangs my head around and I hate that, so I try to sit more towards the front.
I agree with a PP, get on your phone, talk to others in line....just do it, you will have fun!
And yes in the vitamin aisle theres something similar to valium , its called valerian, I believe and I have a friend who takes it at times and it works for her but may not work for anyone.
Just get in line and have fun!!! You will be fine....having a drink is fine, but dont have too many, your stomach gets turned all different ways and Ive seen it backfire on people,lol..not a pretty sight,lol...

In my opinion, Bonine is awesome. I begin taking it the night before we fly...this is a 24 hour pill so I also take it each night on the vacation whether it be at theme parks or on an ocean cruise. As of today, I have not gotten motion sick from a ride or from high seas. Also, I can take a Bonine and still enjoy a beer or a gin and tonic without worrying about a drug/alcohol reaction. Hope this helps...I sound like a Bonine drug rep...lol:cheer2:

Is there a non-drowzy formula of Bonine? Or does Bonine, in general, not make you drowzy?

Reason I ask is because I had the brilliant idea of taking Dramamine before our flight to Orlando/Disney, so that I could enjoy the rides without motion sickness. Well, there I was, laying on the bed at the Wilderness Lodge, feeling so drugged out I could not for the life of me, open my eyes. All I could hear was my little grandson's voice saying over and over again, "Wake up, Grandma, wake up! We're at the happiest place on earth, wake up!" I was pretty wiped out, felt terrible about being such a slug, and vowed never to take anything like that again.

I don't know about bonnine, but I get scopolamine patches, you put it behind your ear, looks like a "spot" bandaid, and it's good for 3 days. No drowsiness - just no nausea. It does not help with the fear factor though.

If you want to ride the coasters and larger attractions but might afraid...the best advice I can give is...JUST DO IT! Don't think about it...just walk through the queue and strap yourself in. :thumbsup2
