From other posts it has been strongly expressed that BCV has too many unacceptable issues.
Have your issues been satisfactorily addressed.
Perhaps highlighting all the issues as a group may lead to some improvement.
1. money stolen from rooms.(donmil723)
2.Poor communication at front desk on room ready requests(Simba cub)(palmtreegirl)
3.cooler items not refrigerated by Bell services.(Simba cub)
4 Incorrect billing by Bell services for gratis dinner .(Simba cub)
5. Poor Management follow up to customer problem(phone)(Simba cub)
6. Light bulbs out(Terry S)
7.dryer lint filter missing(Terry S)
8.Hair in the shower,sink etc.(hampshire mickey)

I've stayed at the BCV a few timnes now and haven't encountered what I would consider "major" problems.

We were there last week and had no problems at all. Haven't had any on our previous two stays, either. I sure hope it stays that way!!

Is all of this from one poster or have these problems been confirmed by mutiple posts over a period of time?

I'm aware of the eon post about almost a disaster, but not putiple posts with the above problems.

Bottom line, BCV is a terrrible place to stay, the worst on WDW world property, it's bad, bad, bad..... nobody make any reservations there (especially during times when I want to stay there).

As is often pointed out on these boards, it is the negative posts that draw the extended scrutiny and comments. That's just human nature.

We've had poll after poll and the people here consistently rate DVC high in various satisfaction levels.

We've been fortunate to avoid any major problems thus far. But I'm sure that in 38 years there will be a few glitches. And hopefully we'll just take them as they come and make the most out of any bad situation.

I think that BCV has no more issues than any other DVC resort. I do think that if one owns at a resort, he/she pays more attention to threads about that resort. I'll admit that the VWL & BWV threads draw my interest immediately, regardless of whether they're positive or negative experiences.

Having said all that, I think any negative experiences that are significant should be brought to Disney management's attention as soon as possible. If nothing else, maybe it will improve things for the next person to come along!

It's a fact that people detail their problems a lot more than their wonderful stays.

Someone will go into detail about what went wrong, how fast it was fixed, if at all when experiencing problems. Tons of people will then post, agreeing, disagreeing, sympathizing, whatever and that type of post generally stays on the front page and in everyone's view. Hence the appearance of a lot of negative posts.

Someone staying at the same resort at the same time will post "Just got back, everything was great" and there may be a few people who post saying thanks, but for the most part, those threads fade into obscurity (off the first page of the board) pretty quickly.

You have to take in the whole picture.

Hopefully, those people who had problems, reported them to the DVC Member Satisfaction Manager as soon as they got back and didn't just post their problems on this board.

I own at BCV and while I am disappointed that others have problems, I can say after 3 visits in 3 different rooms, I have nothing to complain about. That doesn't mean issues don't happen, I just try and keep it all in perspective.

Two stays at BCV, and two great times with no real problems to speak of.

Definitely agree that contacting Disney and DVC management is the ONLY way to improve the situation. ::yes::

We stayed at BCV on May 1-9. We arrived about 2:00 which was very busy. Our room wasn't ready, so we went to the grocery store. When we came back, our room was ready and we asked them to bring up the luggage that they had stored for us when we first arrived. It was probably 45 minutes before it arrived. We thought it would have arrived sooner, but we understood the fact that it was the busiest time of day for the resort.

The only "problem" (if you can really call it that) was that the LR didn't have a remote for the television. There was a remote for the DVD player, but not the TV. We called front desk and they brought a remote up in about 10-15 minutes.

We had a great stay and experience no problems with bugs, dirty rooms, or air conditioning. The water pressure was not what we're used to, but comparable to VWL and BWV. There were a few stains on carpeted areas (in the room and hallway), but that is to be expected. We saw stains on the hall carpets at BC as well, so it was not limited to the DVC resorts.

I also don't think that BCV has any more issues than any other resort and it was my DD's friend who had the money stolen. It was stolen on a Sunday afternoon, we noticed it about 9 pm and went directly back to the hotel to report it. By Tuesday morning they had caught the person responsible and in the meantime had taken care of us by moving us to connecting rooms at the YC so my DD and her friend felt more secure. By Tuesday evening they had returned her money and compensated us to our satisfaction. Yes, this experience did put a damper on our vacation as it did cost us some time reporting, following up, etc., scaring our DD and friend, and we didn't get to stay at BCV where we really enjoy visiting with other members by the quiet pool. It did not in any way make us think less of Disney. In fact, I was impressed with the professional manner in which they handled this situation and they couldn't have been more compassionate and helpful when they saw both 19 year old college girls crying that they were afraid to stay in that room by themselves until the person was caught. Yes, I wish this hadn't happened but if it had to happen, I'm glad it occurred at Disney because they still are tops in customer service at least as far as I'm concerned.

We had also reported a loose bathroom doorknob and it was fixed within 2 hours. We requested ice cube trays and they were brought within minutes. I did notice some dents on the refrig door which looked like they were caused by a child throwing a temper tantrum. But my DH even mentioned how much nicer the BCV were than the YC--newer and fresher looking.

I am still very happy with our BCV purchase and really have no desire to stay anywhere else except perhaps VWL. We have a trip in Dec planned for BCV and we are all still looking forward to it.

Disney is held to possibly the highest standards -- those reserved for the very best at what they do. In accommodations outside Disney, Ritz Carlton comes to mind as another organization that is held to the highest standards. They get there because of their pursuit of excellence, their ability to achieve service recovery, their fanatical attention to detail and their approach to people management.

We on the DVC DIS are possibly among the most knowledgeable Disney guests. As such I suspect we hold Disney to higher standards than most guests. Because of that we probably are quicker to see slippage in service delivery and are more critical when it occurs.

However, as a group I also think we are more supportive of the excellent service Disney delivers. We express that here in our posts, with our add-ons, our frequent visits, in correspondence to management and in the relationships we have with CMs.

We are looking forward to our next BCV visit.

I have read way too many posts about poor housekeeping and other maintenance issues at BCV that make me think somebody is dropping the ball. You can read my post from yesterday " BCV the good, the bad, the ugly" that list several of our issues. I left out some details( believe it or not), I didn't even mention all the problems we had with the room. Point being, I complained 3 times, and several of the issues were still not addressed. It was frustrating and a waste of my vacation time! If you go back and read my post I went to guest services Sunday evening and requested a full cleaning on Monday while we would be out of the room. When nothing was done on Monday I returned to guest services to speak with a Manager. It just so happened that the young man that I had spoken to on Sunday evening recognized me, and told me that he had reported it to the housekeeping manager, who was supposed to contact the person in charge of the villas and had told him that they would take care of it. Again, the ball was dropped somewhere. Please don't read my post and think that I'm saying that BCV is a dump!;) It just baffles me how some rooms can be great, and others look like a supervisor hasn't been to visit in months. Both of our rooms at Pop Century and POFQ would have been considered imaculate compared to our BCV room. It just shouldn't happen.

We had a great week at BCV last year, but the jacuzzi in the room was not working. We called down, and they sent up someone, but it never did get fixed. Other than that, all was fine.

You sly dog...we're not falling for that one !!!

Hey, Hey! In defense of number 6 and 7. The lightbulb burned out after a few days of our stay. It burned out when I turned it on and was replaced quickly after a phone call! How can that be a quality problem? And as far as number 7, I really would not expect a housekeeper to notice that the lint screen was missing? It was also quickly replaced with a phone call. I don't see that as a quality problem, give me a break.

I have stayed at BCV many times now and I don't beleive we have had any real problems at all!

OK, I'll agree with the poster about the light bulb out-and the balcony door was stuck in the lock position when I checked in. BUT, the door was fixed within a few minutes. And as for the light bulb-I called and asked them to drop a new light bulb by my room "when you get a chance". After all, it was almost 10:00pm. They insisted on sending an engineer to my room, who arrived within about 5-10 minutes and changed it right away. Problem? I think not-I was very impressed with the service.

I'll go one step further ... if you have a problem/issue/concern, please talk to CMs while you are at the resort. Generally speaking housekeeping, engineering, front desk, bell services, restaurant, etc. CMs want to know at the time that there is a problem. I cannot stress enough that the DVC CMS DO WANT TO KNOW what members think or how they feel whether it is good or not so good.

I think that overall the BCV could you a boost in a few areas. Besides the problems at check in, our room at the BWV the following week was in much better shape then our room at the BCV. There were chips and marks on the wall, a stained table, just an overall worn look to the room.

It's still a beautiful resort, it just wasn't up to the high standards that Disney has set for themselves and we've come to expect.

Hopefully they will fix these problems in the near future!

I hope some of the people who are not satisfied with BCV would consider selling there points there. I'd love to get another 100 or so points there.
I've Stayed there 7 times since it opened in 2002 and have never had a problem. I've had studios twice, 2BR twice, and 1BR 3times.
I think you have to expect a little wear and tear, after all the rooms are occupied between 340 to 350 days of the year.

Anyone considering selling?

From the most recent VACATION MAGIC:

AAA "awarded their coveted AAA Four Diamond Award to three Walt Disney World properties..." The three were the BWV the BC and ......(drumroll) the BCV...out of 31000 rated properties AAA only gives this award to just over 3% according to the article..and it is given to resorts for "consistently delivering premier experiences" and service.

This is presumably a better gauge of the place than a few internet posts....at least it is highly unlikely the place could have a systemic problem and still fool AAA this badly....
