Does availability open up for fall dates? Or are they truly fully booked?

Hey,

In your experience, do you think rooms and villa availability will open up for fall (November) dates?
There are no reservations open for my deluxe resort choice. I feel like maybe in the past rooms opened up.
I know if there are cancellations rooms free up, but I seem to remember A LOT of availability opening up in the past when it gets closer to fall. Maybe the resorts are focusing on summer specials to fill everything up. Wishful thinking.

Does anyone else feel this way? Hoping for my choice deluxe resort dates for November.

Disney doesn't hold back rooms and then release them later. Everything they've got in their inventory is out there now.

They do sell blocks of rooms to third party sites like Orbitz and Travelocity. Conference organizers can be holding blocks of rooms, which then get freed up if not used. And, as you mentioned, there are cancellations.

As for villas, there are a couple of ways that they can get into inventory at a later date, so do keep checking for those.

Have you checked Orbitz/Travelocity/Expedia?

Not yet, I will check with the third party sites too.

Have you tried toying with your dates? Sometimes you can find availability, for example, for 6 nights but not for 5. Crazy, but try it! Also, consider a split stay, even if you stay just 1 night on your arrival & the rest of the time where rooms are available in your resort choice. And if you have the time, check every day, because rooms do open up. Good luck!

I learned to keep checking. Yesterday morning TPV at Contemporary that had been sold out for weeks for start of August opened up. I quickly changed my reservation. Last night it was showing not available again.

Happy for you! Disney World vacations are so challenging with resort, dining, and fastpass availability. I will keep checking!

Like someone else recommended, check frequently for cancellations. The CR has been full for the dates we are going this October since at least early April! We planned our October trip in April (a "last minute" decision for us) and were shocked to discover no availability at the CR!! We made a reservation at Pop Century and I began checking daily for availability at the CR. About a month later, a room opened up. It's TPV club level, which is way, way more than we want to spend for this 3 day trip, but since it is only 3 days, being in close proximity to MK (we're going for MNSSHP) is a priority for us. So we took it. I still check frequently for other rooms that might open up but so far haven't seen anything.

What are your dates in Nov? You have the end of F&W, Wine & Dine Half marathon , Jersey Week, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving all happening in Nov.

I constantly check and change reservations all of the time. I booked my September trip months ago and I still go to the Disney site daily to check for better deals. As previous posters have said, just keep trying--like me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, people cancel, change and rebook time after time. I'm always hopeful to get exactly what I want for the best price, so I'm very persistent. Also, you might have better luck when people get closer to their final pay or cancel package dates--45 days out from their projected arrival date. A lot of people wait to the last minute to cancel their Disney vacations--a lot of people I think make their plans when they get a good rate and hope that they will still be able to go up to a year from when they first made their reservations. Good luck and hope your Disney wishes come true!

And MVMCP...LOL. Oh my yes. Never thought of all that. When's Jersey week? Do kids still get Veterans Day off if it falls on a Sat?
We are going Nov 10 - 15

Jersey week is pretty much 11/4-11/12. You dates start right at the tail end.

Makes perfect sense. That's probably why all the openings come up closer to your travel date. The 45 days out is key. I won't give up!
I am working at the D23 expo and I heard a rumor that WDW may open a new hotel. Possibly a Star Wars theme! Wouldn't that be cool??
Although, with new things comes crowds of people. I guess we will always be hunting for ressies.

I once got a survey from Disney about that... DH and DD7 would love that!

Check with Disney-specific TAs as well. Mine is usually able to find me something, even when the website shows no availability.
