Does Availability Get Better . . .

as you get closer to your dates? I've been checking reservations that are available within 48 hours to get an idea of what to expect, and it seems like there are some pretty good restaurants/time slots that are still available. Is this typical? We will be there during the last week of January and I'm having a hard time scheduling some of the ADRs that we'd like (BOG breakfast/lunch, Akershus early dinner, Garden Grill early lunch, Trattoria del Forno breakfast). I'm wondering if availability will improve as our dates draw near, or if the PSD packages have caused more people to go with the dining plan and make ADRs. TY!

We've found that to be the case. Sometimes people cancel ADR's a day or two before which then leads to ADR's opening up at the last minute. I know we've canceled or modified many an ADR the day before & even the day of because we just weren't hungry yet or in the mood for what we booked 180 days earlier LOL. We've also snagged day of ADR's for dinner at Citrico's, Trattoria al Forno & Chef's de France during Easter Week just to name a few. So keep trying & good luck in your search!!

Yep keep checking. Things definitely open up as people finalize plans. Highly recommend using a reservation finder if you’re not already signed up.

Touring plans is the best one. Just go on their website and create a (free) account. Once you sign up for the ADRs you need it will send you a text if / when something opens up. You have to act fast when you get the text!

Thanks! Just signed up and put in a request!!

I arrive on Saturday and I just got a prime dinner time Ohana ADR for that night. If you don't mind being last minute, you should be OK.

Now that you're signed up on Touring Plans you should be good! Just be sure to book as soon as you get the text. They go fast! Also going in Jan. Wanted to change my day for 'ohana. In a weeks time I got 4 notices and the last one was perfect....snagged it during a meeting at work. Hehe, take your phone everywhere!

Unfortunately people book multiple reservations on the same day and cancel the ones that don't work for them. Keep looking - I have snagged BOG dinner the day prior.

I've definitely cancelled dining plans within about 48 hours. Sometimes after we've been there for 2-3 days we decide we're just too tired to get up early for breakfast especially if we have to travel to another resort. Last time I cancelled Cali Grill 48 hours prior to the ADR to book Tiffins instead. So, yes, I expect I'm not the only one who does this either realizing that they've been too ambitious with their dining plans or are just too tired to contemplate another late night, early morning or hike over to another location and cancel with enough time for someone else to snag it.

You were right about being fast! Just as I was leaving work, I got a text. I went in right away and it was already gone :( So I signed up again!
