the difference between the original Dock and the Dock II? At our local Wal-Mart all the have is the original, however on ebay and other places I'm seeing one called Dock II. Is there a difference? I mainly want it for the battery re-charger and would rather just go to Wal-Mart and have it now, but if the II is better for a specific reason then I will order online. Can anyone help?

I don't think there's any difference (in terms of technology or features). The II version is just smaller than the other. As long as you have a DX/CX series Kodak camera either one will work (the LS cameras have a separate dock). :)

Thanks Steve! I have a DX so I'm going to just get the one at Wal-Mart. :D

Both do the same job, but the first verison does not have the light indicators on the cradle.

Beth, I don't know if the dock is really work $75..
We have one & it doesn't seem worth it...
The ease of use in distributing pics is nice, but then you always have to have it to charge the camera...

The main reason I was going to get one was for the battery charger. It seems like when I put regular AA batteries in mine they run down within 30 minutes. It would be nice to have the original battery charged all the time. Thats really the only reason I want it. I have a printer/scanner that I can just plug the card into and it downloads the pics.

We have 3 sets of batteries...2 rechargeable and the lithium...:) ..The lithium ones are nice..:)

I dont have the Dock...I have a AA battery recharger that plugs into the wall that charges 4 batteries at a time. It's small, convenient and portable.

If you are using alkalines, Beth, you will go through them like water. Use Donna's AA charger, with nickel hydrides, or lithiums if your camera takes them.

You are exactly right Dan! I have been using the regular ones that John carrys in his truck....and they are gone almost as soon as you put them in.

So it would be cheper to buy lithium or nickel and a regular AA charger? How much would that run? Also do you buy the charger at Wal-Mart, Sears or Lowes???
