Does anyone want to cancel the DVC Member Cruise?

Anyone thinking of or know of anyone who is canceling the DVC member cruise? I called the Monday after at 4:15 to make a reservation for my DSIL and it was all booked, so she is waitlisted.

Unfortunately, they are not able to tell me where she stands on the waitlist. She and her family are stilling planning on going to Florida, but we don't know what to do...wait and pray the waitlist comes through, or have her book hotel accomodations while she waits for us to return from the cruise?

What if she makes hotel accomodations and then is called from the waitlist????

Since the point cost of cruising is so high, I would find it hard to believe that anyone who commited the points would cancel. If one were to cancel, their points are reservation points that can no longer be used for DVC stays. There may be a few cash cancellations, but except for extreme circumstances, I doubt there will be very few wait list success stories.

I think most of the cancellations occurred before booking

Member Services along with my guide have both told me that people have been contacted from the waitlist, not a whole lot, but some have.

We would just like to know where we stand on the list.
