HI,

MY DAUGHTER AND I USED TO VACATION AT DISNEY EVERY OTHER YEAR, AND THE YEAR WE DIDN'T GO TO DISNEY WE WOULD TAKE A CRUISE(NOT DISNEY) CALF. CHICAGO AND OTHER PLACES, THA LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WE BEEN GOING TO DISNEY ONLY. WE JUST GOT BACK A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. I TOLD MY DAUGHTER NEXT YEAR WE WILL BE GOING SOME WHERE ELSE, SHE DID NOT LIKE THAT IDEA, AS I KEEP READING STORIES ON THIS BOARD IT MAKES ME WANT TO BOOK ANOTHER DISNEY VACATION NEXT YEAR.

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?????

DIANE

Well, yes but for the first time in many years my DH and I are going camping. Not real camping (we'll be staying in a furnished cabin) but out in the woods, on a lake with all the fishing and swimming you could want. The setting is only about 25 minutes from my house so I can get home when ever I want to.

It's a beautiful spot and really doesn't feel like being in Massachusetts at all, never mind on the crowded South Shore!

I'm looking forward to going back there. It's been at least 15 years since my last visit. Of course, if the AP rates are good enough, I may be looking forward to another WDW trip in Sept! :teeth:

My DH, DD5 and I have decided:

"Why go anywhere else?!?!?" ;)

It is our favorite place and has something for everyone...all wrapped up in one big vacation!

I tried, I went to Paris but ended up at DL Paris for a day. Oh yeah, the rest of the city is nice too :)

While WDW will always be my favorite vacation spot, I have to say that we are going to start seeing the rest of the country. I have a brother north of Seattle that I love visiting and a close friend in San Diego. So, we'll be doing some of that. Want to maybe fly to Vegas and start driving from there. There are a lot of places to see here in the good ole USA. Not to mention just in NE. DD, 9, is actually looking forward to seeing D.C., Hershey Park, and Colonial Williamsburg/Busch Gardens next summer. But, WDW is still numero uno for me.

Hubby and I have been to San Francisco (drove to Disneyland while in California), Las Vegas, Europe, Mexico, various long weekends within driving distance and four WDW trips since we met. We have our best vacations at The World, no contest. We have pretty much given up on planning other trips, because we always feel disappointed if we do not get our WDW "fix."

We try to make each WDW trip different by trying different resorts, adding side trips, etc. This November, we will be traveling with other family members for the first time, so that will make it very special. Next year, we hope to do Disney Cruise with a group of family and friends.

I'm sure we will get to a point when we will want to try other places, but there is no doubt that we will always long for WDW.

After 5 trips, and 4 in a period of five years, we decided there was a lot more to see and didn't want to have our kids miss seeing other places. So we broke the Disney habit by seeing SF/LA and places in-between (stopping at DL for a night); then to Maui, and then to Boston with a cruise to Bermuda. Great vacations. Going back to WDW this year for the first time in 5 years. We love Disney, but would never make it our only vacation spot anymore.

In the past five years I've travelled to: (in no particular order)

WDW more than a dozen times

Las Vegas twice (once was partially business)

Dallas (partially business)

DCL Magic Eastern

Atlanta (partially business)

Washington DC twice

Lake Placid, NY four times

Calgary/Edmonton/Jasper/Banff

Boston four times

Cleveland twice

Seattle

Miami

Vero Beach

I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

We're planning back-to-back DCL Magic cruises October 2004, Alberta July 2006, Hawaii 2008, and either an Alaskan cruise or Europe 2010.

Up until five years ago, it never even occured to me to vacation at WDW. I had been as a teen, and quite frankly didn't care for it! However, now that I have 3 kids ages 6 and under it is the most logical choice for our family at this time. We have been averaging 2-3 times a year. Unfortunately, my DH is becoming "good" on it and has opted for a break and won't be with us next week:) And I think after our December trip we may whittle down to once a year:( All that being said we do indeed vacation in other spots. We have been most recently to Montreal, Chicago, Cozumel, Aruba and a non disney cruise.

I think I would be lying if I said WDW is my favorite vacation, but for now it works.

DH and I are making our 6th WDW trip in 3 years over Labor Day. During that time we have also went to Washington DC, NYC, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Boaca Raton, FL , Chicago and Richmond, VA. We love to travel and make it a priority. We are trying DCL 11/29 (eastern sailing). WDW still tops our list!:D

You mean there's somewhere else to go? LOL.

But, seriously, if $$ were not an issue, my dh and I would probably take 2 vacations a year: one to WDW and one somewhere else. We've been on several non-Disney vacations (most notably Japan and London -- both in non-WDW-visiting years) and are planning to go to India in a year or two...but we could easily go to WDW every year at least twice!

Hi Diane,

We always start our vacation planning with at least couple of Disney Trips annually and expand from there.

My DW and I both travel professionally a little and try to combine some of those trips with pleasure.

Strictly pleasure trips in the past few years have included...New York, Seattle/Vancouver, San Antonio, San Francisco, Chicago, Las Vegas, Key West, Tampa, Dallas, Hilton Head, Seaside Florida, and San Diego.

We love to travel....however, if we don't get our "Disney Fix" we feel unfulfilled! ;)

Yes!

In case anyone was wondering, the GOBA in my name is our other vacation. It stands for Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure. We ride about 300 miles for the week with 3000 other people. A different kind of fun! (See www.goba.com)

For a few years we had a "free" beach vacation in Lewes, DE (near Rehoboth Beach) with friends who moved there, and were begging all their friends to come and visit. You can't turn down free accomodations for a week at a beach.

We even just came back from 3 days in Niagara Falls with my mom. We'll be the family in the blue Maid of the Mist raincoats!:p

Doing Disney 2 years in a row this time is a fluke for us. (Add Aug 2004 to my signature.)

Yes we like to vacation other places too, we have been all through the caribbean (Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Antigua, Cuba, St. Lucia, Martinique, Barbados, St. Croix, St. Thomas, St Vincent, St. Kitts, St John, Trinidad, Aruba, Curacao)

Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun, Manizillo, Acapulco, Mexico City

South America (Margarita Island, Columbia & Brazil)

North America (Vancouver, Victoria, Edmontn & Calgary, SanDiego & LA, Las Vegas, Nashville, Dallas)

Britain & Europe several times (England, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Holland, Mediterranean Cruise.

In Africa I have been to Cairo, in the far east I have been to Thailand.

I was a travel agent for 12 years so I have so much opportunity to travel ~ although usually for short time periods (ie) Rio for 2 days (9 hour flight each way)

Right now I am having a blast going to Disney with my DD. :p

I would still like to get to New York City - I have only ever connected there ~ but since 9/11 I feel a need to go there. I would also like to go on an Alaskan Cruise and to Hawaii one day. :) oh and Atlantis (the hotel - not the lost continent)

Wow I keep editing this post because I am remembering other places :)

>>^..^<<

Since DH and I have been together we have been to Miami and the Keys (2 times), WDW (7 times this August), Turks and Caicos, Mexico (3 times this October), San Diego/Disneyland, Las Vegas, New York (many times I am from there), Newport, RI, Vermont, Maine and NH (right near us.) We have been overnight to other states for weddings (NJ, CT) but I would not really consider those vacations. This October we are going back to Mexico-Playa del Carmen. We love it there and will visit Cozumel one of our days, see the ruins at Coba and relax on the beach and snorkel! We try to do WDW one week and another vacation the other week. If we can get extra time we do another trip!

Next year we hope to do a Disney Cruise, Aruba and WDW in October if we do not move to Orlando. For our 10 year anniversary we would like to go to Europe (I have only been to Ireland and DH Spain. We want to see London, Paris, Rome and Venice.) That is 2006-so we have some time to plan:) Our friend bought a townhome in India and wants us to visit there too, but we would like to go for a month and it is hard to get the time off.

I am a Travel Agent too so I can get time and good buys but DH only gets 3 weeks.

Yes, I've been to many, many places. Now that we have our little one, she really loved Disney. We know in just the "blink of an eye" she'll be to big for it. So, we are really enjoying our trips now. In a few years, when she's almost a teen, we'll probably focus more on (dare I say here *LOL*) Universal. US is geared more for teens than WDW.

If it wasn't for the FTP, we would have gone to Hawaii this year. I'm going to try and do Hawaii next year. But, who knows, that's what I said last year.

We vacation at WDW plus other places too. I love to travel! In the past 12 months we have been to WDW twice, France (Lyon and Paris), Geneva (day trip from Lyon) and Hawaii. We're also planning a long weekend to Toronto.

This is my first post so hello, everyone!

I have been to San Francisco, Vegas, D.C., Miami, Lake Tahoe, Chicago and had a great time at all of these places. During a trip to the Grand Canyon and L.A., I became HOOKED on everything disney! We went to Disneyland and it was a perfect vacation. We made plans to go to Disney World 10 months later. LOVED it!!! My son is 6 and will make his 5th trip to Disney World in August. My daughter is two and it will be her 3rd trip.

Disney is growing on my husband too. He acts like he would rather go somewhere else but, I know better. It is the perfect place for families. Next June we are planning on going to Hawaii. I am sure we will all love it but I would almost rather go to Disney!!

I'm an ardent traveller and though WDW is my favorite spot in the past few years I've been to the Caribbean for a cruise(not Disney), 2 ski vacations, multiple beach trips, and countless short vacations to visit friends in PA. My Fi and I plan to make 2 week long vacations a year a priority after we get married. I've been told in no uncertain terms I only get one of those every other year for WDW.
