Does anyone use the Ziplock packing idea?

I picked up Ziplock bags in two different sizes in our 99p store recently - ever the synic I thought they would not be that good, on the contrary I found them OK. I use these for DS fastskins when he is competing at a Gala, (i know I can hear you 'what are fastskins' - they are very tight swimming suits for males and females they are made of a fabric that is meant to make you go faster in the water well they are very expensive so when they are rinsed and dried I store them in the ziplock bags ready for the next Gala). I am thinking of using them for the underwear and toiletries this year, don't think I would get the boys clothes in them, eldest is 6'4" !!!!

I wish I could be sure you're 100% joking! ;)

:rotfl: and would they appreciate you handing them a bag every morning and telling them that's what they're wearing? Come to think of it, maybe teenage boys would appreciate it if it meant a) a bit longer in bed or b) less thought processes required! ;) Hmmm ...

not just teenage boys,i have bagged up all our clothes, dh thinks its a great idea, and saves any arguments about what to where :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have read so much about the ziplock packing idea of putting an outfit for each day for a child in a ziplock bag, so it is so easy to unpack and quick finding an outfit each morning. I really want to try this, but don't know what bags to get here in the UK. The American threads talks about 2 gallon size bags, what's that? I have found some zip type bags on the Lakeland site but measurements are in cm on the length etc not the volume.
Does any one use this packing method, if so, what size bags do you use and where do you get them from? Thanks

This sounds like the kind of idea which was started by the Johnson company to promote sales.

I used to roll my stuff in little bundles, where each bundle included one outfit for one person for one day including under clothing. Now I just bring stuff that coordinates well, so I don't need to do that level of planning.
I used to use those bags that compress and squeeze the air out, but that causes too many wrinkles. I sometimes still use these bags, but I only squeeze the air out on the return trip. I do sometimes use one or two of the XL ziplock bags (of the Big bag series) and put all the clothing in it, mostly rolled. This is more to protect stuff against getting wet.

I use some of the small cheap clones of ziplock bags, to organize and pack toiletries and other small gadgets. Even for this I try to use cloth washable bags, except for stuff which is likely to leak.
