I was reading a Canon forum referenced in another thread and saw quite a few posters using Eneloop batteries. Does anyone on this board use these and have an opinion of them? Lately, it seems like our batteries just don't hold a good charge. I recently replaced them all with new ones, and still, they just don't seem to hold up. For what its worth, we have always used the Energizer rechargeables.

I use Eneloops along with Powerex rechargeables. I've been very satisfied with both. :thumbsup2

I use Imedion which are equivalent to Eneloop, they work ok. They give up a little capacity to gain the ability to hold a charge for a longer time. If capacity is of prime importance they may not be the best choice, for most other applications they probably are.

I use the RayOVac Hydrids. Similar to Eneloops. Get 4 AA / 2100mah (not marked as 2100 but RayOVac sent me that info) for $10 at Target.

I use Eneloops. They work great for me. They last long and hold their charge. They use to only be at Circuit City; but a few months ago, they stopped selling them for some reason. You might be able to get them on eBay though.

I use the Eneloop batteries. I have been very pleased so far. During my recent trip to WDW I took 500 to 600 photos, and the set of batteries I put in at the beginning of the trip were still going strong at the end of the trip. BTW, I use the Eneloops in my Pentax K100D.

I read about Eneloops in early 2008 but couldn't find them except out west in Colorado in Wal-Mart (and didn't want to fly back home with them). Then I came home and went into Best Buy and asked for them and they looked at me like I had three heads! My thinking is that the big battery brands aren't going to let stores carry any brand that threatens their livelihood. No one carried them anywhere in our suburban area.

I eventually bought some from Amazon and used them with with my Canon S3 IS. They worked well although I didn't use them for an extended time.

I've bought a few sets of the Kodak 2100mAh version from Thomas Distributing and they work very well. As others said, you give up a little bit of capacity - but they will work when your regular NiMHs are dead after not having been charged in a few weeks!

The thing to look for is "low discharge" or sometimes "pre-charged", those will be the ones you're after. Most are 2000 or 2100mAh.

I used to use Energizer rechargeables, and mine were getting old and just weren't holding a charge. I'd charge them, not have a reason to take any photos for 2 weeks, go to use the camera and the batteries were dead. So DH got me a set of Eneloops for Christmas; I figured when my current set of Energizers lost their charge, I'd switch to the Eneloops. Wouldn't you know....the Energizers are still going strong, so I haven't had a chance to try the Eneloops yet! :lmao:

I'll let you know how I like the Eneloops one of these days......

Thanks for the replies - I have found some on Amazon that seem like a fair price so I think I'm gonna give them a shot. I'll keep some of these other suggestions in mind though in case I'm not happy with the Eneloops.
