Does anyone think new resale restrictions will come after the site shut down.

That was my point, really. Can you imagine being one of those reps, answering the phone, and having to explain to everyone "lolno computer lol" all day? It would be brutal.
When I was in college, I worked for the tech support division of a bank, and when they were bought and merged with another bank, the systems were down for 4 days over Memorial Day weekend, and no one had access to their money that weekend. I literally was stuck answering calls all day of angry people only to have to tell them that I couldn’t do anything for them because the systems were down. After two days, no amount of bonus overtime incentive pay could get me to do overtime during this period (as when the system came back online, it crashed shortly after and was unstable for about a week).

That right there is my biggest concern with the overhaul upgrade. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited that they’ll finally be (hopefully) entering the right decade as far as tech goes… but I’m not going to be overly optimistic that it will be (ahem) *seamless.* :badpc:

More likely "right millennium" rather than "right decade." The servers will no longer be running Windows 95!

True story, my partner works with items that still run Windows 95 and NT. I mock him; he's in "high tech."

You should see the back-end for airline reservation systems. Don't let the fancy web sites fool you. Those systems celebrated their 50th anniversary many years ago LOL (Maybe not QUITE but they definitely predate Windows and DOS. Lots of mainframe-based stuff on *seriously* old hardware)

Yep. This stuff is aerospace.

When you get into aerospace, the number of items still running analog components can be quite surprising, even on newer model planes.

The problem of why the upgrade took so long was that Steve Wozniacki had to take 15 minute naps every hour and that he had a hard time sourcing the plywood he needed for refurbishing the keyboards.
