My sister has just "invested" in Arbonne at a whopping $2000, give or take a few. She has been telling me I should invest in the company because people earn big money and recoup their investment after a couple of months. By the way, she isn't planning on having parties and selling the products, just investing in the company. I'm VERY SKEPTICAL about this entire process and my sister has gone head over heels for this company. I've told her to let me know when she is making money and then maybe I'll think about it.

Just wondering if anyone out there has "invested" in the company or sells the products. Are you making tons of money?

That's a great question. I went to a party about a month ago and the rep was really pushing for people to become reps. She says she makes a ton of money. Someone who lives near me has Arbonne lettered on her vehicle - I guess it's like a Mary Kay car.

Looking forward to the responses.

I know of someone who started selling. She claimed months ago that her new white BMW (or was it a Mercedes) would be coming soon--"compliments of the company".

I have yet to see her driving it.

I think Arbonne makes many a promise that they can not keep.

To me all those home party companies are pyramid schemes. If you're a top seller, you can make good money and perks, but you have to put in a lot of time and recruit others. As far as investing, no way! There are too many other companies selling make-up and skin products. Unless they have a written contract that says you'll be paid XXX amount in dvidends, I'd put my money in a good mutual fund.

I tell you, this website never ceases to amaze me! :earseek:

I just heard of this company today, we have someone wanting to do a "fundraiser" with these products for our workplace. I had never heard of it - of course, I should have know that all I had to do was look on The Disboards!! :rotfl:

That's funny. My sister is already talking about her white Mercedes too.

My neighbor asked if I was interested. Gave me a list of all the perks. . . her $4000 check for March, How she was qualified for her car all she had to do was keep up her sales, discounts, etc. But I can say this. . she did say that it was a car allowance. I'm not sure if that means you get the money even if you choose not to get the car. Not sure if that means it can be taken away if your sales are not up there high enough. There was just too much grey area there for me to hand over my $2300.00

Sounds like the standard multi-level marketing (pyramid) company. :confused3

(Not to be considered investment advice or opinion)

My cousin and her friend sells it. I am not sure how they are both doing in sells, but I do buy certain products from her and I like it.

SIL tried desperately to get me into Arbonne----we refused as it was a ridiculous amount of money we could not afford to take a chance on and it has caused quite a "wedge" within our family.

She kept telling me it was not a pyramid but the more we looked into it, the more we realized that if it is not a pyramid it is the next best thing to one---ever hear the saying "If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck then it probably is a duck"? Well, this was all too true about all we found out about Arbonne!

SIL told us she'd be driving her white Mercedes as well--needless to say its been 6 months and no white Mercedes!! :lmao:

Edited to add: I did really love some of the products...if they would just sell the product and worry less about getting people to work "under" them I would have a totally different attitude!

My neighbor is about to get started in this. She hopes to make enough to become a stay at home mom and is hoping my mother and I are her greatest customers. Hard to say no to friends pushing products on me.

A client of mine tried to get me to buy some. She gave me some to 'try' and then called back a few days later telling me how much I owed her (over $260)! I sent it ALL back. It's a shame really, I actually liked the night cream, but $72 for a little bitty jar... no way! I'll stick with Clinique.

I bought some of the products for my own personal use and signed up at the level where for $35 you get a discount whenever you buy for a year. They are very good products and so far everything I have ordered has been what I expected.

The MSRP minus the discount is similar to buying a "name brand" at the cosmetic counter at a high end store like Neimans or Bloomies. Except you have to pay shipping.

I suppose the person who suggested Arbonne to me (the guy has a hair salon) must be getting credit for recruiting me to buy the products. Once you buy something it lasts a long time, so if you were paying $2000 to get in I would suggest you really pay attention to how you think you are going to constantly find new customers that can afford this stuff. In his situation the beauty salon is a great way to make new people aware of Arbonne by just talking about it while he does their hair.

You aren't supposed to put it out for display if you own a shop so you have to do the selling one on one somehow. There are lots and lots of Arbonne websites and none offer a better deal on the products than if you just go to the company website and order online. All the sites online pay a fee to the company and then compete against each other with similar pricing.

I agree about the $72.00 night cream. When you sell Arbonne you aren't in much or a position to change the price points or sell to others at a discount.
You really need to have a lot of rich friends to make this work out.

I have no interest in selling Arbonne...but I absolutely love the product. It is very expensive for the skin care, but it has lasted me a very long time. I also love the ginger body butter...I buy a case of it each year because it is only seasonal.

I am an Arbonne consultant, but I am not a "Business Builder". My initial investment was only $35.00. I LOVE the products, but I am not the type that likes to pressure someone into buying something. I've never had a Home Party. I do have a few customers that order the balancing cream from me on a regular basis. I mostly am in it for the consultant discount (35%) and ordering products for myself. They do have a teriffic line of products though (I especially like the RE9 skin care line).

I just moved to a new neighborhood and my next door neighbor is just starting as an Arbonne consultant. She asked me to a party, and I agreed to go because I figured it would be a good way to meet the neighbors.

I usually don't mind going to home parties because I can usually find something to buy for under $20 just to be polite, even if I'm not thrilled with the products. But the least expensive I could get out of the Arbonne party was close to $40 for some foot cream that I have yet to use. It seems like a decent product, but a little steep for the average neighborhood party. If I'm going to spend $40, I'd rather spend it on something that I can really use. And if I'm going to shell out close to $300 on face cream, I wouldn't do it on a spur of the moment whim at a home party. It just seems like it has a fairly narrow market...

I am SO SAD and sick to my stomach to hear that so many of you are getting bad views of Arbonne. Arbonne IS a network marketing company. That is not a bad thing. It's just a form of sharing products without all the middle men taking their profit. It is not get-rich-quick, it requires work just like any business. It is a company of very high integrity. It's SO AWFUL that some people are turning it into a pyramid scheme. IT is NOT meant to be like that, and the company itself is working hard to get these unethical reps to stop what they are doing and keep Arbonne's good reputation.

First of all, you DO NOT "INVEST" in Arbonne. You start a home-based business with Arbonne. If you do not plan to put 20+ hours of solid work a week into doing the Arbonne business, DO NOT let anyone talk you into INVESTING large amounts of money in Arbonne. That is NOT how it works. Only people who are VERY committed to doing the business should be putting serious money into it, and even then I think $1000 is the upper limit I would recommend.

That being said, the products are AWESOME!! They are the best I have ever tried, and we have a wide variety of skin care, hormone balancing cremes, baby care, vitamins, nutrition, aromatherapy, and makeup. I have clients who have been able to stop using steroid cremes for their child's eczema, because our baby line products have gotten it under control. Our anti-aging skin care line is LOVED by 90% of the people who try it for me. Next week they are launching a new product line aimed for women 16-35, and it's going to be fantastic. We have a one-on-one approach that allows people to do the business without parties, although parties are still always an option.

About the $72 Night Creme, which is AWESOME, you can get it for FREE with a $29 wholesale account and a $100 retail order. Any consultant can tell you about that, but it's very simple. Say you try our Anti-aging system, and you like the products but can't afford the whole kit. You open a $29 wholesale account (like a Costco or Sam's Club card), which gives you a 35% discount for the whole year. You can order $100 retail of products, and only pay $65 (the 35% off), plus your $29 for the wholesale account, AND, most importantly , your FREE night creme (or any other product you choose). So you get $172 of product for $94 (or whatever your total minus 35%) plus tax and shipping. Any consultant can do this for you, and should be more than happy to do it for you.

Arbonne is a good company, they DO NOT support the unethical practices, and de-authorize consultants when they learn about what they are doing. The products are great enough to sell themselves - all you have to do is try them to see the difference between what you can find in a drug store, and Arbonne. Arbonne uses plant and herbal nutrients, without any mineral oil, artificial dyes and fragrances, and animal by-products, to make really, really awesome products.

And the money is for real - there are 100 women (and a few men) promoting to the upper levels every month, where they are making $6000 a month at the RVP level, and about 10 a month promoting to the NVP level, where they are making $29000 a month. But it takes alot of work, just like building any business. But the beauty of Arbonne is that it is home-based, so you control the hours and effort you put into it. Someone asked about the mercedes program - the white mercedes program is a supplement - you get $800 a month toward the payment of a white mercedes of your choice. That's enough to get a small sedan or SUV.

Please, consider giving Arbonne a chance. Don't let a few unethical people ruin it - it is a great opportunity and a great company that offers wonderful training and income potential, and products to be proud of.

Wow - we have TONS of products for under $20! Our entire makeup line is under $20 per products - our eye pencils are $10. Which foot creme did you have for $40?? The Pampermint set? Our Basics Foot creme is about $14. We have Aromatherapy lotions for $18.50, and body washes for $16.50.

AHHHHHHHH :confused3 :angry

What are people doing to Arbonne out there!!???? It's such a good company with something for everyone!
