Hello all:wave2:

My lovely wife and I will be at WL in just 28 days to celebrate our 15th Anniversary:love2:

One of the things she likes to do during down time, is hop from resort to resort checking out the sights.

My question is: Does anyone know if the resorts will let you check out a room, or just the common areas? We've never asked before, we usually dont have the time to do more than walk around before the kids start getting antsy. :jumping1: We usually stay in 2 rooms at POP or AS with our family of five:grouphug: , but we wanted to check out the roomsizes at POR, maybe see the family suite at AS, or check out the cabins at FW, which are our other choices for our next trip.

Has anyone else tried this?

We resort hopped to almost every resort and DVC's. We ate at their restaurants (like Chef Mickey's) and walked all over. In some cases the mgr on duty let us look at rooms. We chose CSR because of this and have other places we want to stay as well and some we are not interested in until later.

It was alot of fun and great downtime.

I love to check out the different resorts if I have some downtime, plus it gives me a chance to look around and see if I'd want to stay at that resort next time.

At the PC I went to check out the grounds and wanted to see the size of a room, I asked at the check-in desk if there was any way for me to see a room and within a couple minutes a lovely CM was walking me around the grounds and showing me a room. The CM was really nice and said as long as there are free rooms they have no problem showing them to people.

yes you can resort hop... if you have time check out the akl it is soooo cool!

Definitely, I always hit the monorail resorts, and have also seen WL, AKL, BWI, and Swolphin. This time, I hope to check out CSR and some of the DVCs such as OKW, BC/YC and SSR.

We love the resorts, and often have stopped at ones we have not stayed at to walk the grounds and see if it might be a place we want to stay. While at Epcot a few years back, we went over to the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club, and decided that our next trip would be at one of those if we could. We stayed at the Boardwalk and loved it.

While at the Boardwalk, we walked over to the YBC, and asked to see a room. We just had to wait a minute and someone took us to see a room, so I assume they will do this at all resorts if time permits, and they have a free room to show.

We also pool hopped over to Stormalong Bay. Someday we want to stay at YBC - what a great place!

I hope you hopped prior to 2001 or 2002 when the BCV opened because pool hopping is not permitted to SAB even by DVC members.

If you walk out of the International Gateway of Epcot, you can check out BC/YC and BCV'x. Then around the lake to Swan/Dolphin, and on to Boardwalk and BWV. I did that one afternoon and it was fun.

ooh, one of my favorite things to do! I love shopping and finding unique resort-specific merchandise. Of course, I don't always BUY it, but its a nice way to spend a few free hours when you don't feel like visiting a park.
:goodvibes

It is also one of our favorite things to do. I love it. There is so much to see at all the different resorts!

I love to resort hop!! Last December we went to the GF to see the Gingerbread house (and get the gingerbread house pin) and to the Poly just to look around and shop. I love hotels/resorts-I think I need to work in that industry!
