Hi,

Been doing alot of research on digital cameras and this one seems to fit the bill. 3.2 Megapixels, 6X optical zoom, etc. I just wanted to see if anyone out there has one and can tell me what they like and don't like about it. Any other digital camera advice would be great too. I'm feeling overwhelmed!!!

I don't have that exact model, but I do have a Fuji digital camera that I absolutely love. It's a lesser model (the Fuji Finepix 2600 Zoom, which has now been replaced with the 2650 model), but it's a great camera. Enjoy yours!

Thanks ead79,

What kind of printer do you have? I've heard the Fugi's don't work with HP photosmart printers. I'm glad you like your camera!!
We're excited about getting one :teeth:

I do! I do!

I got my Fuji for Christmas and I absolutely love it! It's my first digital camera and I really like the 6x optical zoom. I don't print my own pictures, I use Ofoto so don't have any info on that. It's really a simple camera to use, a little bulkier than some of the other "pocket" sized cameras but it is really nice to be able to zoom in on the kids. Good luck with your decision!

I do too!!!

We have not had ours long... But, so far we love it!! Got a great deal on it thru somebody that DH knows.... Can't see myself picking up our old 35mm any more!

I noticed the other day on Yahoo Shopping, that this camera was listed as a top-pick.... the zoom is great!

Here are my tips... Buy good rechargable batteries, and keep them ready. All these digitals just eat the batteries. This particular camera will not give you much of a 'low-battery' notice.

Because of the zoom, the viewfinder, like the screen, are both display. So you do not have the clarity of looking thru the camera thru a true glass optical viewfinder. But, if you want that zoom (and, trust me, you do!!!) That is what makes this a necessary drawback.

Other thing, the Finepix does not have a direct video-out - like to hook up directly to a TV. That is not something that I myself would every really miss... Always have the computer with our nice monitor!

It is one nice camera! You would be happy.

No input about the particular camera....but video out to TV is important to us. On trips, each night, we view on TV & delete the bad ones thus making more room on the storage media for more pics the next day. :)

Buy lots of storage cards OR consider some other method of empting cards on vacation (like bringing a laptop & downloading pics to that.)

I feel your pain. We too are camera shopping to replace ours. I'm leaning towards the new Olympus C750 (10x zoom) if they'll EVER put it on the market (just heard delayed till mid-June). aaarrgghh

Thanks you guys for your replies. The other camera we're considering is the Olympus C-730. It has 10x optical zoom and 3.2 megapixels. I'm glad you guys mentioned the direvt video hook-up to the TV. That sounds like a nice option but not mandatory. It's such a hard decision!! I reallyappreciate all your advice :teeth:
