does anyone on here feel that they have to try and see everything?

No, we don'g even try, we know we'll be there over and over for at least the next 49 years, so we actually are leaving a lot of things for when we have kids.

We always rush around from attraction to attraction. I told DF that when we're on our WDW honeymoon later this year we're going to slow down and take it all in. I want to see shows (which we never do), and ride some of the rides we never go near. We're also going to one of the water parks, which we've never done.

On our last trip we pushed ourselves so hard that we were in bed asleep by 11 everyday. Very early for us.

Of course, the obsessive planner in me has started making an itinerary (trip's not until October), and it's getting pretty full already! :rotfl:

We definitly don't feel we have to do everything in one trip. I know we are always going to go back and what we didn't see will be waiting for us next year.

I more stress out about having time to eat at all our favorite restaurants than anything else.

no way - the only way we go to WDW is s - l - o - w.... But we have the beauty of living close enough for day trips and I have been going to WDW since I was born.
Now my mom is one who wants to be at the park when they open, stay til they close and "do everything". I am not about to wait in a line for anything. We do the fast pass thing and if we feel the need for autographs we'll do a character meal.

It's funny to read about all our differences. Even though I can hit the beach daily at home and will soon be able to hit our own pool at home. .....we love to lounge at teh resorts....love to explore the restaurants....love to just "be" at WDW and soak in the magic, atmosphere and life.

Now....if we lived elsewhere...this all might change!

it used to drive me crazy when Dh would lounge at the pool from 9 am until 3 pm then take a nap and only go in the evening so I finally just said I'm going I'll be back.I could not stand the idea of "wasting all that time and money just sitting by the pool" He wasn't thrilled at first but then realized we were both happier. Commando just doesn't work for us, DD & myself, now and really what is better being able to say you'd seen it and done it all but everyone was stressed and crabby or having fun and making magic memories and still making sure evereyone gets to do something they want to do. After 21 trips (22 coming up in May) it's pretty obvious that I'm going to keep coming back so if I miss it I'll catch it next time. so I just set the goal of trying to do either something new(meaning never done) or something I've not done in a long time and once I sit and think about it it usually ends up that we do something like that everyday without really thinking about it. So I guess I'm a reformed "commando" and I don't stress about the time and money thing anymore.(except when it comes to the choclate milk they have at the food courts at the resorts. why do they not have cartons instead of the BIG Nestles Quik ones DD ALWAYS wants chocolate milk and NEVER is able to drink that whole big thing. we then end up throwing it away and then tell her she can't have it anymore because it's wasteful.. then she's unhappy....sorry it's the only spot that really ticks me off) :upsidedow

We went for a week and hit up a few parks twice. We kept a fast pace but skipped rides we know we didn't like or can do at Disneyland. We really wished we'd spent more time at the waterparks, so we're going back to do just that..

:flower:

Our last trip was 11 days, at a very low attendance time, and we went slow AND did just about everything. This time we are only going for 4 days. So I said to DH, I says "Since we are going to be there a short time, and have been many many times, what do you think about doing a couple new things, like the kids do the pirate cruise, or do that scavenger hunt thingy? you know, don't even TRY to see everything?"

He says,

So thats your answer here. :rotfl2:

you will so want to do it all since this your first trip.....and if you don't, you will so regret it! I have been there MANY times and still want to "do it all" everytime I go. When you are there, it seems ok to say we'll see this next time or maybe we won't like that so skip it, but afterwards you will regret not trying everything! If you are energetic, you can see it all in one trip. We usually book 7 day tkts, 2x at each park, except AK once. That way you can split your days and spend opening to close just soaking in everything. I LOVE IT!

I wish we could go for that long with mininal people...that means we can ride things five and six times more.

I can sit on my butt when I get home. I'm in Disney and I'm on the go every day. I'll rest when I get home. :teeth:

Now I'll admit my kids probably slow me a down a little. :rotfl2: But seriously I have a DD that won't be 3 until the end of June 2006 so we take breaks etc. I am planning our next trip for June and deciding on repeats and what things we didn't get to do last time we really really want to do. I know we will only get a good portion of what we want to done but that's what the next trip is for. :teeth:
