Does anyone NOT like Myspace?

I have a myspace, but recently, I havent been checking it as often as I used to. The reason? Simple.
Facebook.
It's sooo addicting. But it's safer than myspace, as you can only see the profile if your in the other person's network (ie: college, highschool, area). I <3 it.

I love Facebook! I made my myspace before high school facebook came along.. and now I hardly use my myspace

I like how on Facebook you can't change the backgrounds and add all those flashy animations and movie things.. a few personal touches are fine, but some people go way overboard and it takes forever for their profile to load. And I love to poke people :)

What I dont like is when people are imagining that just because you have a myspace, you are giving out all your information, talking to people you dont know and stuff like that. I have one, its on private. I only talk to people I know. I am smart about what I put on there and what I dont.

I don't have a myspace but I have a Xanga!! I only really use it 2 talk 2 my friends that I don't talk 2 a lot or for over the summer.

I really don't care to give out my information to perverted stalkers and get raped..

Exactly the same with me.

i like it cause its easy for me to keep in contact with not just my school friends but also to keep in contact with my friends that live in other states. .and yeah i know people say that there are a bunch of perverts on there but i only let people that i know be on my myspace friends list so im careful. .myspace is only dangerous when you do something stupid and you dont think about the consequences. . . thats all i have to say. . peace out people!

ya but i look both ways.

I'm not going to start a big argument over something little like this, but just because you look both ways doesn't mean your safe. In my lifetime I have probably been almost ran over about a jillion times. And I always look.

Myspace has over 50 million registered users, its the 3rd largest visited website on the web. If I recall correctly, there have been something like 40 cases of rapes and such problems with myspace, so basically, you have a better chance of getting rapped walking down your street then you do using myspace correctly....

All you people saying that you don't want to put your personal information on myspace, you don't have to. You can make myspace as personal, or impersonal as you want. Myspace doesn't force you to say anything, except your name, age and location when you sign up and if you don't want to say that you can fake it. And risking your life? The people that get abducted or raped? It's their fault for giving out too much information, not myspace's. If they choose to say where they live, work, their address and phone number, they're setting theirselves up for it. Myspace is a really safe place if you're not an idiot about it.

Brilliantly said! Bravo to you and I agree fully.

I recetly pulled my profile off MYspace. I mainly got onto the site because i was looking to find friends from school or people that i lost contact with. I found my old best friend from high school. We hadn't seen each other in almost 20 years. I had a pick of me and my DH and my children. I specifically said that i wasn't looking to meet any guys. It said that i was married with children, etc. I had so many e-mails from guys that said tyhat they were moving to my area and did i want to meet them. I just deleted those. They also have the reind requests. I only put peopel that i had something in common with or actual friends. I have children and i am not just going to put anyone on my friend list. That is a refelction on me. Then i received so many friend requests from hip hops bands. I also specifically put that i did not like hip hop. My experience is that it really is for people that are trying to market themselves. Since i found some old friends and some new ones, i had their personal e-mail addresses so i decided to pull myself off of Myspace.
