Does anyone live in Grassy Key,FL?

I am looking at some career positions in Grassy Key and need to know the cost of living. I know it's high but we aren't looking to buy a house but to rent. I would also like any info on the surrounding keys if they are any cheaper. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you mean Grassy Key? We've been there to vacation and it's just north of Marathon. Very nice, but unless you've been to the Keys and understand that the style of living is very different, I wouldn't up and move. No malls, 2 small grocery stores and a Kmart. Great restaurants! Key Colony Beach in Marathon is a lovely place to live.

Sorry, I meant Grassy Key. Thanks for the info. I can deal with the small town atmosphere as I live in a small town now. Plus if I get the job (working with dolphins) I wouldn't care!!

I think you're going to have a problem finding long-term rental property in the middle of the keys.

Hi! I bet you're looking at work at DRC? I've spent my fair share of time there once upon a time.

If I were you, I'd go into Marathon, you'll find better housing there a little bit cheaper. Still, you are going to pay a lot for rent. I can ask my X husband for you if you want? He's flipping a house down there right now and his mom knew of many rental properties. Just let me know.

Let me talk to my X and see what I can find out. As a matter of fact, he and our kids were just to DRC last week. There are new babies
