I missed this ride (I went to Space Mountain while the family went on Stitch). Anyhow, my kids won't go on again because of the "smell". Obviously I don't know what it is or how bad it is, but I have read nothing but bad about it here on the DIS. So if absolutely no one thinks it adds something good to the ride, then why do they keep it??:confused3

We went on it during our spring break after it opened. There was a 2 + hr wait, so we got fast passes. We went with another family, and at that time my kids were 12, 10 , and 8. We all thought it was maybe cute, but yes smelly, and definitely not worth a wait. I guess it's better than what was there, but it was disappointing. We are going down in a month and my kids said we never have to go on it again. And they haven't said that about any other ride- they might skip one here and there (like Mission Space that makes my DD naseaus). The smell didn't disgust us though, it was one of the funnier parts of it.

My 3yo loves this ride. Don't ask me why. He thinks the burp is "so funny". It's stinky, but not disgusting, IMO. I've smelled far worse living with 5 boys!;)

I cant stand the smell of that burp!!! I dont like this attraction at all and it is a must miss each year for us.

My 5 year old DS loves the Stitch attraction. DH has always been the one to take him since he seems to like it well enough. I have not been on it since it was Alien Encounter and I was not impressed then. However, DS says I have to go with him this time. I guess I will find out how bad it is then. :)

My DS12 loves this ride. He wants to ride it every time we go into or out of Tomorrow Land. He thinks the burp is hysterical :rotfl2:

Personally, I can take it or leave it :)

I never thought I would be commenting on a belch, but here goes....While I wouldn't say I "liked" his burp excerpt, I thought it to be rather intriguing how Disney can actually facilitate simulated smells and sounds. And in case you are wondering- it was a chili dog burp. Smelled like one too....:rolleyes1

Although its a different smell, I think the stink bug in Its tough to be a bug as a worse smell that Stitch's burp!!!!:lmao:

Did they add the smell in later? The only time I rode the ride there was no smell, that was 3years ago-ish.

But hearing about it has successfully kept me from ever riding the attraction again. My stomach turns really easily when it comes to smells, people will think I am crazy when I am gagging about something they don't even detect.

DS4 loved this ride! We saw it at least 5 times, and I distinctly remember the burp. It's stinky, definitely, but nothing that will linger in your imagination for the rest of the day. I did find that if you can anticipate when the burp's about to happen (really easy), then you can lean forward and miss the initial burst. The downside is that the lovely smell blows into your hair if you're not careful. Stitch is so gross, and DS thinks he's the greatest thing ever! :lmao:

We were there in 2004 and had no clue what the ride even was. We waited like an hour and were TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED! I never say I hated anything Disney, but I really HATED this ride! It wasn't really scary. I just thought it was dumb and totally NOT WORTH waiting that long!! We will NOT do it on the next trip! Does this ride still have a constant long wait time????

On my last 3 trips, their was no wait whatsoever for this ride. Its cute but certainly not worth waiting for!!!!!

Thanks to these boards I have never smelled it. I hold my breath every time it is about to happen

We've always been able to walk on.

My DH couldn't wait to ride this ride last year. It was a big let down. I didn't smell anything though. Maybe I was blessed and it ran out of smell before we got on

DH insisted on riding it in August. I knew the burp was coming and held my nose. Since DH is the one who HAD to ride it, I let him enjoy the smell (that he did not expect). :lmao:

What do you mean by "simulated"? Do you mean Stitch wasn't really standing on my shoulder eating a hotdog and burping? A little of the Disney magic just died in my soul. :sad1:

Seriously, though. I'm really not a fan of Stitch's Big Escape. It doesn't impress me at all, and I'm not sure I completely understand the concept of what they were trying to do with the thing that comes down and sits on your shoulders.

But as far as the burp (and the skunk in Journey into Your Imagination with Figment), it seems to get a laugh every time. Listen to the audience's reaction next time. "Oh no! Hahaha, that's disgusting." (Or maybe that's just us guys laughing.)

Oh my gosh, this is one of the worst things I've ever smelled. There's something wrong about being out in the heat, then going in there and smelling that. It's just gross.

The burp is perhaps the only redeeming quality of an otherwise abysmal attraction. I really don't get the whole point of it. A more appropriate question would be, "Does anyone LIKE the Sitch ride?" :confused3

The burp didn't bother me really bother me. And BirdsOfPreyDave the point of the thing that comes down and sits on your shoulders is that is where the speakers are. That thing is the reason stitch sounds like he's standing on your seat.
