Does anyone like Mission Space?

i love M:S. i think it's a unique, amazing experience. i love liftoff and actually get disappointed when we go into hybersleep because we lose the sensation for a few minutes. regardless, it's an incredible ride and i think everyone should try it once. it is a pretty tight space, but i just love it. i would ride it every day of the trip if i could!

I always walked right on as well. I think the intensity scares people away. But to answer your question, both DH and I looooooooved it!

Loved it!!!!!!!! My DS (4), DD (8) and I totally loved it!!! We'll go on it again next time for sure. DW chickened out.

Okay sorry to the men on this board or if this question was already asked, I have a rather large bust and I'm afraid with all that gravity "pushing" on me that I would feel like I couldn't catch my breath (I've experienced this on Carnival like Gravitron's) do you think I would feel the same effects on MS?

Hi HeatherPage,

I just posted a few comments above yours about this very thing! It does sorta take your breath away a bit, but the overwhelming sensation is just of being squished flat, and it isn't a very pleasant feeling :faint:

I love it! I'm generally a ride wimp, but this I coud do over and over. If you look forward and keep your eyes open, you can't tell it's spinning. The illusion of weightlessness it pretty neat too! Inside the ride, they do show you exactly what will happen - i.e. that you will be in a huge centrifuge.

My wife doesn't like it because it makes her cheeks hurt! (I'm asking for the tag fairy, aren't I?)

I haven't been on it yet, I will do it as the last ride of the day because its Disney.
I expect to feel like I have the flu when I am done. Similiar experiences can be had on Mr.Freeze-6flagsTexas and Mean Streak-Cedar Point.
I saw a catscan study done in Japan a couple of years ago showing some mild brain damage in the riders of some of these new intense coasters, riders passing out etc.
I have always liked the big drop coasters. I don't understand the desire to spin around and experience g-forces.
As an aside..My 2 yr old daughter spins around for apparently no reason.

My DD (6) and I loved this ride!!!! She would have ridden it over and over again, If we would have let her. She did talk me into 3 times in a row though!!! DH, on the other hand had enough after just 1 time. :confused3

I agree with everyone else about the spinning, you don't really know that you are spinning.

It is a great ride. However unlike a number of attractions, I can not ride it a number of times in a row. I have done the ride twice in one day and that is all that my inner ear can handle. The lack of repeat customers means that the ride wait time may be less than other e-ticket rides.

I love it and must go on more than once a trip. Unfortunately, it is so good that it makes Star Tours seem very dated. My wife, while she had no problems with the ride, has no desire to do it again.

Our whole family (me, DH, DS15 and DS13) absolutely love Mission Space!!

Absolutely a great ride. I got to ride it for the first time last September and can't wait to go back to ride it again. My family got a little sick on it but they weren't feeling well before hand. They just thought they could handle it. I LOVED IT, THOUGH. I guess I need to ride it without the family next time.

As long as you look at the screen....if you look away, it could make you a little sick!

I felt a lot of pressure on my chest. It was not pleasant; in fact, it made me think of some kind of medical test. I even resorted to my old Lamaze training...you know, focus and slow steady breathing. Truthfully, I was so relieved when the pressure stopped. It was also very close in there, especially after that sccreen came forward.

I was really glad when it was over. A bit weak in the knees, but not ill.

No desire to ever do that again.

Mission :SPACE is on of my favs......Much better than test track IMHO. Dont be afraid of it you cant even feel the spinning sensation.

I went on this ride during CAST PREVIEWS when it was about to open. I had just Completed 13 Beers(YES THATS RIGHT I MADE IT AROUND THE WORLD) and was so snookered I strolled right past the cast member guarding the attraction yelling "I work at PANCHITOS SUNDRIES" (thats the store at the Coranado). To this day my friends call me Panchito. They are just mad cuz they didnt have the nerve to do the same thing.

If I can ride after 13 Beers (Yes even the African Outpost sells beer) and not get sick anyone should be able to ride.

It's strange- there are so many warnings about people who can't tolerate closed spaces.... I can't even set foot in an airplane bathroom, but the 'closeness' in MS doesn't bother me in the least. Not sure why not, but I'm glad!!!!

Now I will ride anything, but those warnings in MS made even me doubt I would get out in one piece. So glad I did. This is awesome  and i could have done this again a couple of times. I would say not straight after though as it took my head about an hour to recover. The effects are great and not spinny at all, just feel the force of liftoff. You have to try it just so you can judge for yourself, otherwise you may regret it.

Much pixie dust,
Claire

thats funny :rotfl2:

This is my DH favorite ride out of the four parks. He absolutely loved this ride.

My husband and daughter (12) love it! I rode and would ride again, but once per visit is fine with me. I felt kind of dizzy afterwards....hmmm maybe it was just me! :rotfl2:
