Does ANYONE like Carribbean Beach Resort??

We were at CBR for 9 nights last fall and had a wonderful stay. I love the theming, the food court was great and I really noticed the larger size of the rooms. I'd go back in a heartbeat, but I would probably pay for a preferred room this time. We got a complimentary upgrade last time and I really appreciated being close to the food court. We usually go there twice a day - breakfast and late night coffee - so it was really convenient to be close to it.

I love it!!!! CBR was my first onsite resort stay and it holds a special place for me! Outside of those feelings though, it is an excellent resort. Beautiful grounds, great food court and gift shop, I love everything about it. If it weren't for the amazing rates we have gotten and are getting at POP again this year, I would have booked it but, we will stay CBR again soon, its been too long!

We loved CBR during our trip this past June 6/8-6/16! I think our DS(7) would stay there all the time. He talks about it constantly. We will return someday but we do like to stay at the other resorts too. POR or POFQ for June 2009!

What is a quiet pool? A swimming pool that you have to be quiet at?

The quiet pool just means it is quieter than the main pool. They are smaller than the main pool and each of the "islands" has one. Since most of the kids want to go to the main pools for the slides, etc., the smaller pools are usually quieter.

The CBR was the first resort we ever stayed at and we have so many fond memories of it. We loved it, we stayed in Martiniqe. It was close to everything.

Thank you! That's exactly how I felt...like we didn't count. And it shouldn't matter if we can't have kids or don't want kids. I just wish more people would stop and think before they make comments because nobody really knows our situation and I shouldn't have to explain it to them in order to validate our "family".

I love CBR! We stayed there on our honeymoon and it was the first resort I ever stayed at. At our next stay we went with ASMusic because it was cheaper, but we longed for CBR so much that we went to visit it. We finally went back a month ago and still love it. It's so quiet and peaceful and I love the Island themeing.

We also love CBR! I think it has a special place in my heart because it was the first on-site hotel I'd ever stayed at. I've been back many times, and each time it's like home-away-from-home. We are owners at OKW, but frequently drive over to CBR and relax by the Banana Cabana with a beverage or two

We're staying at CBR for the first time in two months and we can not wait! Safetymom has some great photos and her FAQ thread has convinced us that we've made the right decision. There are a few other regulars who also have some great CBR photos. And where is Lisa? Her detailed reports on CBR always get us excited about our upcoming trips.

Here I am! I just haven't been able to get on the boards too much the last couple of days. My boss, for some silly reason, thinks that the Federal Brief and Court of Appeal deadlines just had to get off my desk! (I am a paralegal)

Like I've posted before, we have stayed at the CBR twice and enjoyed our stays immensely. From the minute we drove onto the CBR grounds, we fell in love.

I love walking around the grounds and seeing the brightly colored buildings, the ducks swimming on the lake and the lush landscaping. The island in the middle of the lake is a great quiet spot. You'll find several benches and hammocks nestled amongst the tropical trees. Steel drum music plays all around the resort and you can't help but feel as if you are in a tropical paradise.

The transportation at the CBR was very efficient during both of our stays. We never waited very long for a bus and, at times, there were two and three buses at the station at one time. Because the CBR is so centrally located, it rarely took us long to reach any Disney destination.

I really think that you guys will enjoy a stay at the CBR just like all the other posters have!

We stayed at CBR for our honeymoon in 2001 and loved it! I'd been to Disney plenty of times, but this was my first on-site stay. It's absolutely beautiful. We stayed at ASMusic last year for our fifth anniversary. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad place to stay, but it was nothing compared to CBR. Enough for me to not ever want to do Values again. So we bought into DVC!

Those darn lawyers. (I'm a legal secretary.) We're moving our office a month from today and yet they still want to bill hours while we're trying to pack. Can you imagine? Just tell the Courts they'll have to wait a few days. (I planned our vacation well...a month after the move date, we'll be at WDW. I will have earned it by then.)

I'll chime in with the others -- we've stayed at WL and AKL, but CBR is our favorite, and that goes for my kids too! I have plenty of CBR photos in the links below -- Safetymom is the expert on CBR!! Make sure you check out the FAQ thread she mentioned -- there's not much more I can add that others haven't already told you -- it's like a vacation retreat within your WDW vacation!

We stayed at CBR in March 2006 and really liked it. Unlike some, we enjoyed the walk from Aruba to the food court.

Stayed at AKL in March 2007, very nice.

Can't justify $$$ of AKL for the difference (personal opinion) so we'll be back at CBR in March 2008.
