Does anyone like Astro Orbitor?

I enjoyed it but don't think it is worth the wait most of the time, especially at night it provides an awesome view of the park. For those of you that haven't been in years I think they did do some work on it is the last 2 years. I felt secure in the ride but I had not ridden it since I was a child and don't remember what it was like then.

We rode it for the first time in October. The line wasn't too bad. My first clue should have been that horrid, tiny, hot, stuffy elevator! And that was just to get to the load area!
DH and DS went in a rocket and I ended up in one by myself. I didn't like it. When the ride stopped DH was laughing and he said "You didn't like that, did you?" I'm not afraid of heights and while I don't like spinning (like in a tea cup) I didn't think the Astro Orbiter would be a problem. I won't ride it again. It didn't make me sick but it made me a little dizzy.

Just reading this thread makes my stomach flip flop! I am terrified of this ride! I remember going on it as a kid with my grandfather and having such a good time on it, but- I took my son on it last year and almost had a heart attack!!! :scared1: He is 3 and I was so scared we were going to fall out! I held onto him so tight I thought he was going to burst!!! :teeth: I would hate to see them get rid of it as I have such great memories of it but I personally would prefer to watch it from the ground! princess:

ITA! I HATED this ride. I have no fear of heights, rollercoasters, falling, etc. But something about this ride was just icky! Never doing it again!

I always loved it at DL when I was little but rode it a couple of years ago with DD and didn't like it. I felt a little motion sick and she threw up on the elevator on the way down. Oh, yeah. That was nice.......She and I won't be going on that one again anytime soon.d I have told DH that he can take the boys but I am not coming along. Hey, someone has to wait with DD!

My DH and I had to ride separately since he is tall and we didn't fit in one rocket together. He liked the ride. I was scared out of my wits! I made it go up and then I kept repeating "oh oh down down down --" and believe it or not then I made it go up again. ARG! I ride any coaster there is but this ride scared me worse than ANY other ride! Once was enough for me. :sad2: But I liked the tomorrow land telephone to the left of the elevator as you face the elevator.

I used to ride it with my son when he was small and insisted we go. Now, he can go by himself - hurrah!!

I just got that sickening feeling all over again :confused3 :confused3 . Never again for me!!! It made me dizzy and I wanted off fast!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a standard carnival ride with a twist - it's built higher up for great views and you get to take an elevator to get there! I don't dislike the ride (and my kids like it a lot), I just can't spin anymore. 20 years ago I would have been a big fan. I don't think it's worth the long waits you often encounter, though.

If everyone hates it, why is the line sooooooooo long :confused3 !!!!

I love this ride. DH and DD 10 hate it, but DD 13 likes it. We didn't get to ride last year because I refuse to wait more than 15 minutes - and that never happens. But I'm gonna try this year. I love being way up high!!

I like it - I love the view from up there. I'll only ride it if the line is reasonable. My DH only rode it once and won't do it again!

The line is long because it takes so long to load the passengers.

I'm the OP and I glad to see I'm not alone in my feelings about AO (once was enough). I thought I was weird, now I feel normal (well, almost).

It's not my favorite WDW ride, but I like it fine.

I will never get on this ride again. I HATED it. Yikes!
On the other hand, my husband liked it.
Takes all kinds.... ;)

The ride made me a bit dizzy but the biggest problem I found was that I didn't fit very well in it. I'm a bit Pooh sized but not that much; however, those rockets are very small & very hard to get into. It's definitely a kids' ride.
