whether dogs can have mental illness, or be mentally challenged?
My dog cannot be "normal". He won't, (or can't) learn anything! He refuses to become housebroken (he is 7........yes 7 yrs old, ) and still pees and poops in the house, especially when we go out (spiteful?) He can wait all day, when we are at work, goes out as soon as the first person in comes home, and I swear, just goes enough to relieve the pressure on his bladder, (no matter how long he is out) and then goes on the floor 15 min after he comes in!!

Hmmm, my inexperience suggestions are to get a crate, possibly obedience training and start treating him like a puppy again. Re house break him. Also, get him checked out by a vet in case something is physically wrong.

My doggie is starting to have a problem, but hers is that she's getting old. :(

I've read about animals going to a pet therapist to fix whatever issues the animal might be having. I don't know anyone personally who has taken their animal to one.

:o My dog, (Maltese),is the same way, she is 3 yrs. old, I'm about ready to K---, her, she stayed in a cage for the first year, now she actslike she is dumb as H =--, . I 'm at my wits end.nana2tots
