. . who will be taking over as WWTBAM host on the <I>Wonder</I> after Mark Baratelli leaves? He starts working at <I>Universal Studios</I> on March 9 (the new "<I>Beach</I>" show I think). I always thought Cruise Director Rick was the best host. I doubt that Jacqui would do it. Has anyone heard about the replacement? Are they going to continue the show?

The cruise directors have hosted it on the Magic for a while and in fact Jacqui DID host it when she was CD on our 12/7 cruise. I would imagine that would be the case on the Wonder as well.

When Jacqui was the CD on my cruise last month, that was the first time I've seen her. She seemed VERY low-profile . . low key . . even made few appearances or announcements compared to Rick. That is why I couldn't picture her hosting WWTBAM. Guess I was wrong! :jester:

Did Jacqui work on the Magic before the Wonder? On our Wonder cruise, she did about everything herself. She was such a 'WONDER'ful person, too. :) Or, are there two Jacqui's?

Yes - Jacqui has worked on both ships. On my last Wonder cruise, she was not bad, but did not impress me I think because I am more used to Rick's <I>highly visible</I> style. Maybe she was just having an "off" cruise.

Shari,

She must have been having a off cruise when you were one because I thought she was great on the 2/2-6 cruise. She really got the party started at the sailaways, did a good job of doing the intro to the shows (at least the ones we saw) and generally kept things running smoothly. Thinking back to last May (our last cruise before this) I don't think Rick was any more visable on that cruise than Jacqui was on this one.

Jacqui has been on the Magic for a few years now....we have sailed with her 3 times and seen her host WWTBM twice.

On my cruise I think I only saw her twice. I would not recognize her if I saw her again! Plus, she made very few announcements and they seemed unenthusiastic (to me). Everyone has their "off" times and I guess that was hers. On all of my previous cruises, Rick was EVERYWHERE (at least wherever <B>I</B> happened to go), made frequent, informative announcements and seemed enthusiastic about <I>everything</I> - even though he was losing his voice the last time I saw him! Maybe it is just that I prefer his <I>style</I> as a Cruise Director.

Anyway, Jacqui may be just as good, but did not seem so on the cruise that was my introduction to her. You know what they say about "first impressions"? That is why I could not picture her hosting WWTBAM, but maybe what I saw was not her usual self.

We thought Jacqui was great! We were on the 11/23 cruise and she was very present, upbeat, and informative. Other members in our sailing party also commented on what a good job she was doing. She made announcement before the evening shows and had a wonderful sense of humor.

On the last evening on board my DH, BIL and I were having a cocktail in the jazz bar (can't remember the name) and we were the only ones in the place and she stopped by and chatted with on for quite some time.

Well, as I said, it appears that on my particular cruise (at least the couple of times I saw or heard her) she was not her usual enthusiastic self. I did not mean to offend anyone by saying I could not picture her hosting WWTBAM. All my previous cruises were with Rick and I considered him to be non-stop outstanding / enthusiastic. My comparison can only be based on my personal experience. Perhaps I will have Jacqui again sometime . . when she is more what the rest of you seem to have experienced. :p
