Does anyone know why MK opens early on Jan 17?

We are planning to go to MK on Jan 17 and I just now realized that early entry is at 7:30 on that day. The days before and after are all 8:30. Anyone know why? The crowd calendars aren’t showing anything different that day that I can see. I’m considering switching days. We are usually rope drop people but that seems a bit too early. I’m also concerned there is a reason that it’s opening early (ie expected higher crowds) and that maybe we should avoid. We’re supposed to do HS on Jan 18. Should I swap those two days or just roll with it?

It appears to be due to the start of the MLK Holiday (Jan. 20th) Weekend, and the Epcot International Festival of the Arts that starts January 17, 2025.

The adjusted hours for MK, and AK were announced on December 31st. And in addition to MK Early Open, closing hours are extended from 9 PM. to 11 PM. And to add even more mystery AK’s closing time was moved from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on both January 17 and 18 The park will be open from 8 AM to 7 PM on both days

Ok. I wondered if it was due to the MLK holiday weekend. I just thought it was strange that it’s just that Friday and no other day of the weekend.
