I'm sure this has been asked before, but none of the threads I've found seems to have the answer. DH opened an account to buy MP3 files off the web, and offered to buy this song for my player. There are a few different versions listed on the site he buys his music from. I don't know the name of the site, but it may be Itunes. I'm looking for the version that was featured in the Kodak preshow from Honey I Shrunk the Audience in WDW.

I'm pretty sure it was Cyndi Lauper who sang that. :D It may have been a different artist for the Kodak show, but I believe she is the one that made the single.

You with the sad eyes
don't be discouraged
oh I realize
it's hard to take courage
in a world full of people
you can lose sight of it all
and the darkness inside you
can make you fell so small

But I see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colors
true colors are beautiful
like a rainbow

Show me a smile then
don't be unhappy, can't remember
when I last saw you laughing
if this world makes you crazy
and you've taken all you can bear
you call me up
because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
shining through
I see your true colors
and that's why I love you
so don't be afraid to let them show
your true colors
true colors are beautiful
like a rainbow

I thought a group of kids sang that song. I loved seeing that preshow, it gave me the chills every time.
My favroite version in the Phil Collins one.

I remember Cydi Lauper's version playing while they showed pictures of kid's on the big screen.

The version used in the preshow is neither Cyndi Lauper nor Phil Collins, it was sung by uncredited studio musicians (both a male and female voice share the vocals on teh HISTA track). Tom Kelly and Billy Steinberg wrote the song that Cyndi first released in 1986. Phil released it as a bonus track on a greatest hits compilation in 1998. I believe that WDW began using it in 1997, maybe late 1996.

OT, but does anyone else LOVE the Dove commercials using this song as much as I do? It's so great to see someone trying to give young girls some positive self images. :thumbsup2 I already liked their products before now I'm a Dove only user!

I like the commercial too. I believe that this version of the song is sung by a group of Girl Scouts. I was reading the lyrics above and this commercial is what I was picturing in my mind. I like the kids singing it. You can go to the Dove Self Esteem Fund TV ad website and play it. It says if you send the link to friends it will donate 25cents to their fund for each email .
