Yes! They start going up right after the last days of MNSSHP which is Nov 2nd. I believe the CHristmas Party (MVMCP) begins mid November, so all decorations are usually up by then.
Are up by the middle of Dec. like everyone have stated. There will be finishing touches still appearing through early Dec. however, so if you are wanting to see the total package, then I would look towards Dec. For example we have seen them putting up the large Christmas Tree out in front of the CR in Dec. But the majority is up before Thanksgiving.
We were there the first week of December and ALL of the decorations had long been put up. I read they take them down beginning around Jan 6, 2008, that is what the WDW website says.

We left on 11/1/06 and Everything Pop was already getting out their Christmas merchandise on the floor. MGM a few days earlier were also getting some things out as well.
<Sigh> I would love to visit Disney when all the Christmas decorations are up.
Yes, but they are all put up before that. They get them up in time for the early MVMCP and CP, and this year they are going to have the Harlem Choir at MGM along with the Osborne lights, which BTW some are up already(probably not taken down). I noticed some of them on the buildings when we were there in August.

Oct 2 to Nov 29 is Regular season.
Nov 30 to December 18 is Value season.
I also noticed the lights up in MGM when we were there in August. One of these years we got to go at Christmas time. I would rather not go Christmas week and the kids have school.
We were there last year from October 28 to November 2. The lights were starting to go up in MGM before Halloween, and AK had their Christmas tree and garlands up on November 1.
Yep, as most people have already said... my trip last year began on November 2nd, and they already had a lot of trees and things up. I know everything wasn't there, but it had started at least. As far as how late they stay up, I just remember it seeming like forever when I was working the Front Desk at the All Stars back in '04. I didn't so much mind the decor, but the music looping over and over on into January was crazy. LoL
