We've got loads of DIY projects going on at the minute so our holiday fund is a little depleated.

So we are considering renting half our points this year to cover the cost of our flights. We figured that we could make do with a studio or 1 bed this time round if its's a choice between not going and going.

So my question is what is the average rate for point rental. We took friends in Feb this year and they rented a few points from someone in the USA and it worked out just under £10 a point with the exchange rate as it was then. Do you think I could charge £10 per point for renting?

Hi

I am no expert, but i would think £10 is a little dear, if you check out the rental board, most points are rented out at around the $10 mark $13 tops, i would try renting at roughly what $10 converts to in £'s good luck.

The £ rates that I have seen have been in the region of £5-£7.50,although I have also seen one set of points as low as £4,I also think that you would struggle to sell at £10 on todays rates that's about $16/point & your potential buyer can beat that buying from US owners.

I rent mine out at approximately $10 a point.

Hope you get what you want

DVC points typically rent between $10 to $12 per point through the boards. Great price compared to cash reservation.

If you want to have them booked up, I would do no more than $10 as there are plenty going for that on the US board. The only thing that may swing it for you is if someone from the UK wanted to borrow without the hassle of using a US member. But to get the bigger market would stick at $10.

Thanks for all the replies everyone you're all so helpful :goodvibes

We may not have to rent them out now anyway as we may have found other means to book our flights, we don't need to book till November so we're keeping fingers crossed.

Its just a case of trying to do everything as we're having our driveway replaced in October which is costing a small fortune. If it wasn;t for that our yearly WDW wouldn't even be in question.

I would say about £6, however at the moment they are going for as low as $8-$9. If you are not in a rush to rent them out and they are not going to expire soon then I would put them at $10 on here. More than $10 is pushing it unless you have points for BLT at 11 months.
