Hi everyone, I was looking into the "American Express Gold Delta Sky Miles" credit card and then alas realized that Delta only flys "connecting" flights from Chicago (Midway and Ohare) -- and that just plain "stinks" as far as I'm concerned!! We usually prefer to fly "ATA" and so I'm wondering, does anyone know of a credit card that utilizes ATA for sky miles? Or perhaps a better airline that won't run me to Texas, Atlanta, Alabama or whereever else before reaching ORLANDO from CHICAGO?!?!?! Thanks bunches!!

Diners Club has a rewards program that is good for ANY airline. They have a big catalog of things that can be redeemed for points and most of the airlines participate.

Also the regular American Express card's points thing may go for other airlines. Just check the websites and see.

First, Delta is going to start non-stop O'Hare - Orlando service shortly.

Second, ATA does not have a frequent flyer program, so you can't earn miles with them since they don't have a program.

Third, the Delta SkyMiles credit card is actually a pretty good card for earning miles now that they give you 2 miles for each dollar spent at grocery stores, drugstores, gas stations, etc.

We belong to Ambassadair travel club which is associated with ATA. Visa just offered us a credit card, with no annual fee, that you can earn travel dollars with every purchase. You can redeem your travel dollars for Ambassadair trips and ATA scheduled flights, up to the full price of the trip or ticket. You get one travel dollar for every $100 you charge. I believe you have to belong to Ambassadair to get the card but I'm not sure. If you are interested you can call 1-800-208-4333.

As you know trading in Sky Miles isn't always that easy. We earn Sky Miles(Delta) with our American Express card. The ATA offer sounds much better for us by getting the dollars taken off the trip and flight you want.

Maybe this is too obvious to be the correct answer, but, here goes.

How about American? Which I think has O'Hare as a hub.

I have an American Airlines Visa from Citibank. I earn one mile per dollar charged on anything. And I've accumulted quite a few miles that way, in addition to actual travel.

If you go to www.aa.com and look there under partners, you'll find a way to apply for it.

Good luck!

Joe Hurley

There are others, such as Diners Club which let you use your miles on any airline, but they also have the annual fee and are accepted at fewer locations.

There are also some no-annual fee cards, but you only get .5 mile/$ spent.

The big problem on the SW credit card is that 12 month issue. If you don't get the remaining 12 credits by the end of 12 months then you lose your first four credits you got for signing up. I perfer programs where the miles don't expire that fast!

this is one of the best sights for info on acrueing FTP miles and whose program does what etc. there is also a book out called the official frequent flyer guidebook 7th edition. by Randy Peterson and it tells you every program and how to get the most miles and how to use them and hotels, cars, air etc. he is the GURU of frequent flyer/stay programs.....
