airport restaurants and stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day? Specifically, Charlotte airport. We have an almost 3 hour layover and to sit for 2-3 hours will make the time drag on forever!!!!!!!! Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Charlotte has a neat airport. We had a lay-over there last January and I really liked it.

I think that stores/restaurants in airports are kind of like stores in malls where they have to be open during certain core times. I can't vouch for this, but I would think they would have at least a skeleton staff. Interesting question. We've never traveled on a holiday - day before, day after, yes - and have never run into this issue. I've attached a link - maybe you can call and check?
