Meaning..if we have unused park hoppers...can we use them once...then upgrade them to the special discounted PAP that is currently being offered? Or do we have to do that online? THANKS

I was just checking all the details of the pass this morning, and it didn't say anything about doing that upgrade thing. It did, however, say if you already had an active pass, you could buy new vouchers as long as you activated it before April next year. That is what I intend to do, since my current AP is good until Dec. 15th.

I don't know the answer to your question. If the discounted rate is available at the ticket window, you'd be able to upgrade your existing MYW tickets. However, I don't know if those tickets are available for purchase as a walk-up or if you need to do it through MS/Member Web Site.

I've done it before (UT tickets to DVC AP) and I don't know any reason why it won't work now. That is what I plan to do in April.

From the DVC site:
To purchase the Walt Disney World Premium Annual Pass, Members can visit the online Ticket Store, call Member Services at (800) ******** or (407) 566-3800, or visit any Walt Disney World Vacation Planning or Guest Relations window. But do so quickly—this special Member pricing is only available until April 30, 2014!

I thought the new PAPS had to be activated by the end of Jan. 2015. :confused3

I think diane is referring to this language on the DVC site:

Even if you've already purchased one, you can still take advantage of these limited-time savings. Purchase before April 30, 2014, and you can activate your new Pass or Passport when your old one expires.

I don't think that is intended to mean that you can activate you new pass at ANY TIME when your old one expires. Everything else that's been posted everywhere says they must be activated by January (not sure what date it was - 1/15 I think) 2015. Seems like that language should be written better on the DVC site.

When they published that information - a few weeks ago - anyone who had an AP at that moment in time would be able to buy a new voucher and activate it when their AP expired.

But as time goes by beyond 1/15, that will be true for less and less people. So if you had an AP that that didn't expire until say April 2015, the new deal really wouldn't work for you - or seem to make much sense.
