Does anyone know if DVC pool hopping will work at BLT?

Just wondering how the DVC pool hopping will work at BLT? I haven't read anything yet. And how about at the AKV's? Will it be allowed once Kidani is finished?

Since DVC can't pool hop to Animal Kingdom Lodge now, I would bet there wouldn't be hopping allowed at the new resort either. Not sure about Contemporary.

There is a new pool but no pool hopping, same as BCV.

I could SWEAR I read someplace that the BLT pool was ONLY for BLT guests. My bet is that means NO pool hopping!

I've read that too - and my guide also told me - NO pool hopping at BLT, or the new pool being added at AKV for Kidani Village. They'll be like SAB, you have to stay at the resort to swim there.

Since "No Pool Hopping" is becoming a common theme wouldn't it be in the interest of all members just to stop the practice all together?
I own at BWV and have to sometimes look for a chair or table far from the pool because many of the pool users are from other resorts and take up space that the resort patrons could be utilizing.
I can see a temporary restriction for the first year until sales have slowed down but members should have equal access to all DVC pools especially if the members with restricted pools have privileges to use mine.

I have to agree with Pooh Pooh. I think it needs to be either all restricted, and actually enforced or no restrictions. I don't like that some are and some aren't.

I think it's time for this benefit to go away! The number of members just makes it too much!

However, the sceaming and crying on here that will occur is something I don't want to see LOL!

You know, I will be a new member of AKV (paper work on Wednesday). I don't know what the uproar is about pool hopping. I'm joining DVC to be close to my resort, be able to jump in the pool get out and get back to my room.

Maybe I just don't get all the hoopla about going to a different pool...*shrug*. I'm sure not wasting my time or day to do that.

Some of the pools at the newer resorts are much nicer than the older ones. DVC is working to upgrade them, but nothing compares to StormAlong Bay yet.

I agree. And I own at AKV but still think it isn't fair for other owners to not be able to use the pool there. I also own at BWV and VWL where there is no such restriction and Pooh Pooh is correct, it isn't fair for others to be able to come use MY pool when I can't use THEIRS.

Correct. Pool hopping IN without pool hopping OUT to AKV, BCV and BLT isn't fair.

And no, I don't ever pool hop, either.

I'm sure they are I just wouldn't spend my day going to another resort for just a "pool". Maybe I'm different. I did tour OKW last week, and that pool would be fine for me, my wife and my son. I just wouldn't take a day going to another pool

Pool hopping was first used as a way to make DVC Members feel special.

Now restricting pool hopping is being used as one more reason to get Members to buy points at the restricted resort.

I own at BWV and I have to agree with the previous posters about the pool hopping. I have never done it. I think it shoould be ALL pools or no pools...KWIM?

I suspect that those who stay at the non-DVC resorts (like the Poly, the GF, CBR, CS, etc.) also think the DVC pool hopping perk is unfair.

I often wonder how many DVC members / rooms there will have to be for DVC to eliminate the pool hopping perk.
