:grouphug: This will be my first time combining my Disney vacation with Universal Studios. I'm staying on Disney property and would like to know if anyone knows how can I get to Universal studios without the use of a rental car.

I believe that someone mentioned using the transportation station, but I'm not sure.

Thank you

I know that both times I have stayed in a Disney resort & traveled to Universal, I've used Mears. They pick you up at your hotel, & bring you to the transportation area at Universal. You can set a time for return when you book your trip, or you can call them a couple of hours before you want to leave & they'll give you a time & a gate number. I think it was $12 per person round trip. It took alittle while to get there because the bus also stopped along International Drive hotels, and at Sea World, but if you get an early bus, you get there in pleanty of time for opening (we went on a Halloween Horror Night last year, got to the movie park at opening, had dinner at Emeril's and spent the night at Islands of Adventure. Mears picked us up at 11 that night, I believe)

Good luck!

What if you are transferring hotels from Disney property to Universal property? We plan on staying at both properties when we go, in 2006, and were hoping that mears would provide transportation to Universal, but we will not need round trip back to Disney. We will be using mears from the airport and then back to the airport, so would we then still be charged $12 to get just to Universal?

The last time we travelled from Disney to Universal, we used Tiffany Towncar. It may be a little more expensive than Mears (depending on how many people in your party). For us, it was cost effective because there were 6 of us. The other advantage was that we didn't detour to pick up other parties - it was just us. You could check out their website (www.tiffanytowncar.com) and see if they post rates between parks.

There is also the Linx bus which you would catch outside the Ticket and Transportation Center. I think it's the #50 but I'm not 100% sure on that.

We used Mears which cost 14 dollars per person round trip, this was last month. They sent out a big bus and were on time both on our way out and for our pick up and we were pleased with the service.

The Lynx #50 bus will not take you to Universal Studios. You will have to transfer. I suggest you go on line to www.golynx.com. That is the website for the public transit in the area. I wonder if someone on the transportation board could help you?

We were in WDW in February 2004 and also used Tiffany Town Car to get to and from CBR/Airport. The driver that was assigned to our trip offered to arrange a day to go to Universal. We did not take him up on the offer as it was our first trip with the children and wanted them to have all the Disney time possible. This year will be different. princess:
