The building is 199 feet, not the drop. Expedition Everest, the castle, and TOT are all 199-199.5 feet tall. If they were 200' tall they'd have to have one of those red blinking lights on top for aircraft, (learned that on the Backstage Magic tour).
The highest drop is 170 feet (according to our tour guide).
I'm not sure but it is the BEST ride! Total exhilaration. My mom is a complete ride weenie and I got her on it and she loved it. I could ride it all day and certain rides scare me/make me feel ill but this is not one of them
It's all very confusing exactly how far the drop is...from what I've been able to piece together, the drop from the initial height (where the elevator enters the "shaft") to the bottom is about 80 feet...but because the elevator "shoots up" the maximum drop is as promised...13 stories...or 130 feet. (The tower itself is 199 feet tall...and the height where the windows are is about 160 feet.)
Great, great ride...but way too short...even when you get a lot of drops. I must say the "random" drops upgrade took a great ride and pushed it over to spectacular.
The first drop is the worst & I swear last time its was 3 ft. But it flip your tummy. the great thing about ToT is it's the best themed ride & it is very smooth. I am scared of heights & falling but I love Tot. I am deciding if it is worth 50 bucks to hop on our next trip so I can go on ToT. Short trip.
We only went on it once because after the wait I was SOOO disappointed. It "bounced" more than it dropped, it kept dropping a little and going back up and dropping again. If I had to guess I would have said it dropped maybe 20-30 feet in a single drop, then would "bounce" up and drop again. It actually felt kind of silly to me, like I was "duped".
But the ride thru the freaky hotel up to the dropping part was pretty neat.
