Does anyone know about resort scooter use?

My parents are joining us this October and we are staying at WLV. My Mom has had knee trouble and was wondering if we should check into a scooter rental for the parks. If we did a scooter rental, is there somewhere we can store it at the resort, or do we (can we) bring it to our room?
I was wondering if anyone knows about this...

If you rent from Walker or one of teh other rental places, you will have it for full use, and will store and charge it in your room.

If you rent a scooter at a WDW park, it can not be taken from the park.

If you rent a scooter from an offsite location, you keep it with you the whole time and keep it in your room. Most of them need to be charged over night. Check out the DISabilities boards for reccomendations for good off-site rentals. They helped us out a great deal when we needed this info.

Most people keep them in their rooms so that they are handy and you can charge them.
In many of the resorts, bell serives will store them for you if you don't want to keep it in your room.
