Does anyone here like to eat Lemons

When I was a kid I used to ask my mom to buy lemons and I would eat them whole. I always eat them when I have them as a garnish to a drink.

My son likes to eat them too. We have fought over a lemon wedges from iced tea at restaurants.

I can't eat a lemon whole, but I do like it in water, but I like Lime in water better

I love lemons and limes but I wouldn't eat them whole. I will each them like orange slices with a little salt. I have gotten into using fresh squeezed lemon and lime on just about everything I cook lately.

Hey Lisa, ever try giving one to Mabel? :lmao:

I will have to try that someday!! I know she will eat it (not a food she hasn't no liked....or ate yet) but it would be interesting to see her reaction :lmao:

I tried fresh mushrooms today when I was making my salad....it took her a while...but did eat it eventually.

She loves apples, oranges, cantelope, watermelon, bananas, lettuce, purple cabbage, kiwi, tomatoes, onions, green & red peppers, cucumbers, carrots and now mushrooms.

Oh...and her absolute favorite...and will go totally nutso when you eat them....are those fresh sugar snap pea in a pod things.....just nuts!!! (oh...and peanuts!!! LOL!!!)

I don't feed the things regularly, but she gets a little taste if anyone is eating them....I think she would rather take a pea pod thing instead of a pigs ear!!

I have 4 trees full of lemons in my yard. PLEASE come and get them. They will be ready in about 2 weeks. We can't possibly use all of them.

If you eat lemons or limons on a regular basis you won't have any teeth in your old age. The acid will eat away the enamel on the teeth and leave them sensitive to hot, cold and acids. Eventually crowns will be necessary...or extractions if they are gone too far....

This is absolutely true. My stepmother has a friend who has eaten whole lemons her whole life and her teeth look disgusting.

As for myself, I put lemon in everything. I just don't bite into them.

This thread is making me think of the pickled limes that Amy March got in trouble over in Louisa May Alcott's Little Women.

Anybody else ever wonder what those were like? I think that they must have been pickled with sugar--like watermelon rinds.

Sure, twist my arm... My DH might notice me gone again, though. He just recovered from my WDW trip. :teeth:

I have never actually tried eating one. I keep lemons in my refrigerator all the time though. I put a wedge in almost everything I drink. :goodvibes

First off, Mabel is lovely! I judge Weimaraners at a show in March- puppies and veterans.

I LOVE lemons- ever had some pickled with olives? Mediterranean mix can have them- some offer green olives stuffed with lemon or orange.
Also, a thin lemon slice cooked tempura style- ahhhD! :thumbsup2

I love lemon on food or in water, but don't eat them alone--it's too sour for me. My brother used to eat lemons whole when he was very young, but my mother made him stop because of the teeth issue.

Have you ever read the children's book "Lentil" by Robert McCloskey? There is a character in that story that eats lemons all the time.

I love lemons. I don't eat them very often because they a lot of times after I eat one I get a cold sore. Something to do with the citrus acid?? :confused3 Anyway, when I do eat them I just cut them like I would an orange.
