I was wondering if anyone else has either of these conditions. I have a long history with fainting. It all started back when I was 5 years old. All it takes is the right triggers to be activated. For me it's hungry, hot, & nervous. VOILA
instant nap. Im in my 30s now and my last episode was a little scarier than usual.
The other day all 3 triggers collided at the precise time. The good thing about it was that I fainted in the hospital during my wifes checkup. I fainted then went into a seizure for the first time. My wife said I was unconscious for at least a minute and I was convulsing. Well, to make a long story short, I recovered fine. After an EKG and butt load of tests, the neurologists said my vasovagal syncope manifested itself into convulsive syncope. Convulsive syncope is a disorder in which the brain reacts to the temporary deprivation of blood and oxygen which occurs during a faint by generating brief seizure activity. Thankfully this is a benign condition and does not suggest that epilepsy will develop at any point in the future. Today I am currently undergoing other tests such as EEG and ECO among others just to be safe.
Am I the only one out there with this condition?

That's enough to make anyone faint. And no, you don't have a warped sense of humor. Humor can actually ease nerves during a crisis. While I was being transported from OB to ER by ambulance, which is at another campus, the paramedic jokingly said: You had to steal the show. ha ha ha (From my wife who is 6 weeks pregnant.) It helped at the time because we thought I was having a stroke. Thanks for sharing.
