O...M...G...!!!

I was just over on splitcoaststampers.com checking out the gallery and came across someone who has this organizational unit.

I SOOOOO would love to find this under the Christmas tree this year!!! I'm sure it's even better in person but you HAVE to check this thing out.

Do any of you have this? Does it fit everything you have? Did you have to buy more stuff to fill it? LOL

Tell me all about it, if you have one.

I'm a little late to help you in time for Christmas ;) but I thought I'd respond just in case you're still considering the scrapbox. I had a full scrap room and had to condense into a small space when that room needed to be used for something else. The scrapbox was the perfect solution. It's a lovely piece of furniture that can blend with any room in your house. I got the black one, and couldn't be happier. I was able to fit everything in my room in the scrapbox with room to spare! Trust me, that was quite an accomplishment. :rolleyes1

I'm in the process of reorganizing it, using more of the cubbies as shelves rather than using the bins. It makes it look a little prettier imo.

Did you get one for Christmas??

Just watched a gal do a tour of hers on youtube. She doesn't have a scraproom, so she has one of these on a stair landing in her place.

Then I went to the website to look at the price. :scared1:
I just did over my entire room in IKEA furniture and a few other misc items and spent about $1000 and that included delivery from IKEA.

BUT, I suppose if you don't have a room, and have very limited space and a LOT of supplies, its probably worth it.

Very well thought out storage system for sure.

You're right on the price. When I had a room to use I was able to put up shelving, use inexpensive tables and other storage solutions that were very inexpensive. I put the time and effort into making it visually appealing, i.e. baby food jars with ribbons holding the labels for the contents, photo boxes with ribbons/labels, etc. But the room itself counts as an expense, doesn't it? That's a huge part of your housing expense, and unless you have it to spare, you need a solution. For me, that solution was the scrapbox, and it has been well worth the expense. I've used many different storage solutions in the past, including office armoires, but the scrapbox is the more versatile and the most realistic in terms of holding supplies. No matter where you start out, if you become serious about your scrapbooking hobby you're going to accumulate some supplies. Not to mention photos and scrapbooks. The scrapbox has enough space to grow with you without taking over a room in your home.

I love me some Ikea, though. Just completely remodeled my kitchen with Adele cabinets! :cloud9:

The IKEA stuff is too big for my alcove, and the unit I currently have is literally buckling under the weight:guilty: I got a brochure for something similar from Storage 4 Crafts over here, but I probably won't go for a foldaway because the dining table gets in the way of doors, rather go for the units with draws and boxes in them.

Yes, it is a bit expensive, but at the moment I've got swaps in ziplock baggies spilling out of priority mail boxes, so I reckon it would look neater (which would please DH). And I could transfer everything out of my 4 totes and off other random surfaces which would give us more space - if I buy ordinary shelves I'll still have mis-matched boxes, loose stuff and maybe some wasted space.

has anyone in the UK bought these? What did you choose and are you happy wiht it?

My friend has one in her scraproom and our scrappin' group helped her put it together. It took a good portion of an afternoon and a couple of bottles of wine! It was relatively easy and rolled down the hallway into her scrap room. She loves all the storage and the fact that it folds up. As we do frequent crops she likes all her stuff categorized into containers she can easily transport.

We just built a house which has a scrap room and although I have lots of room, I'm considering it! :)
