I am ready to drop my current phone company today and I need to choose between Vonage and Sunrocket. As far as I can tell Sunrocket is cheaper, but I don't think it's been around as long as Vonage. Does anyone have any input on either company? I am so sick of paying $48 a month for no long distance calls ::yes:: ! Mcleod has raised my rate $16 over the last year and I'm not getting any more perks for my money  .

Hi-
I have used vonage now for about 2 years. It has been fine. We had a lot of problems in the begining but it was a faulty cable modem-not vonage. The only downside (and this can be all VOIP service) is that if your internet connection slows down for any reason your call quality can get bad. Even with that I think it is a great deal-we average around 19/month for our phone bill.

We have had Vonage for almost 3 years and I couldn't be happier. Not only is the quality great, but their customer service is outstanding. We had Verizon and they took almost a year to transfer our phone number to Vonage. During that year we would have had two phone bills but Vonage never charged us a penny. Vonage's customer service rep's were wonderful!

Check viatalk.com $200 flat for 2 years (100 per year).

I have had Vonage for a few years with no issues but will probably be switching to viatalk cause it is so cheap.

I was told that if you are switching from one VoIP to another, that you cannot keep your existing phone number. Do you know if that's true?

I don't know for sure but I would think you could without any problem.

Optimum Voice is the one that told me that, so maybe you just can't do it with them, who knows. I don't want to take my chances, otherwise I would do that deal since Vonage has creeped up in price.

We've had Vonage for two years and it has been fine. I think we our plan is for 500 minutes/month (we are definitely not big talkers, might use 60 minutes a month) and we pay just over $17.00 including tax every month.
