Does anyone have points under 150??

We have 155 points. 125 at BLT and 30 at BWV. We use the BLT to get Standard View room at 11 months and usually just me and DW on those trips. So we just bank and borrow for that.

We have 125 at BLT that we use for a trip every year or year and a half. We did DL last year and did a few days off property and mixed in some Hollywood and that kind of stuff.

We have stayed at Bonnet Creek and also done a cruise to maximize our points. We just make what we have work how we can and make the most of it that way.

We have a 100 point VGC contract and it's perfect for us. The two vacations we prefer to use the points for are 5 nights at DL for 90 pts or 7 nights at VB for 81 pts.

We have 160 points. We started out with a 100 point contract and added on 60 about a year later.

We've been borrowing and paying for a cash night here or there. Mostly because the last few times we've traveled we brought my parents along and got a 2 bedroom.

We only have 3 in our family. So if hubby comes along we get a 1 bedroom and otherwise my son and I get a studio. We usually travel in the slow season as well.

I would love more points, but hubby doesn't like WDW so it's amazing he let me buy into DVC twice already. If we bought again, we would buy resale.

We just closed on a 100 pt contract in March, but we plan to add on two more contracts for a total of 300 eventually.

We have 185 100 at AKV and. 85 HH. We stay in studios I prefer not to cook on vacations.. We do end up paying cash at HH.

We have two contracts that total 155 points and we are happy enough. :goodvibes

Our first contract was 100 points at BWV and we added 55 points at SSR.

We can stay at BWV every year in a standard studio for seven nights. (just got back and booked again for next April to use annual pass)

And we use the SSR 55 points every other year. That will be next year.

Our dues are only a little over $800 per year and we pay in full each January.

I really don't see a reason to add on, but never say never. ;)

Dw and I bought in at 150 and had that for about 5 years. We have added an additional 70 points to make 220 and next year if we can swing it without a loan we will add 50-100 more.

We have 170 and am borrowed thru 2015 UY :)

I feel your pain. We have 160 and are borrowed through 2014. Only had DVC since 2012. I sense trouble on the horizon.....

We need more points!

As addictions go, DVC ain't so bad.......right.......?????

We have 100 points at BLT. I bought so that I could get a week (almost) in a std studio every year. We come from the UK and always do a two week trip with the other week away from Disney.

So far we have stayed:
- 1 week in a theme park view at BLT
- 5 nights in a studio at HHI
- 4 nights in a studio at GCV

We also have a THV at SSR booked for this December - this uses up all our 2013 and 2014 points but we are treating one set of parents to the trip....and next year we want to go to Australia so it should work out ok :)

We have 125. We have been able to go every year for a week, we always stay in studios. Between banking and borrowing, last year we stayed at Aulani, Grand Californian. This year have 3 trips planned. If you plan it right, you can make it work. It's easy to maintain, reasonable maintenance fees. :thumbsup2

We have 166, but started with only 25 back in 2007. Our plan was to get our feet wet, and we didn't want to go in debt to Disney, so we have slowly added on paying cash the whole time.

We have our points (believe it or not) spread out over 3 resorts, and we rotate between the 3 (OKW, WLV and BLT) every 3 years, it works great as we have 11 month window for 3 resorts. It works well. We already have a 9 night stay booked in a BLT standard studio for marathon weekend next year and we were able to stay 7 nights in a WLV 1 bedroom just this past January. We love it.

I started out with a 100 point vwl contract After 3 years I wanted and purchased a 74 BCV contract and now have since purchased another 50 BCV contract. Thank goodness they are all the same use year. It seems that my WDW trip every two years has gotten into almost every year. And now we have a grandchild. But, I will not be buying any more points other than 25 WVL and that is so I can have the same amount of points at each resort to give my to my two children someday. Any amount of points is good!

We started out with 150. Year 1 we only used about a third of the points and would have been able to bank yearly and take one 5 day trips per year in a 1 bedroom for some time. But of course started going more often and of course added on. Total now is 275 and we normally go twice a year and stay in a 1 bedroom for about 5 nights each. There is always the part of me that wants to add on but i think we are in really good shape. If we want to stay longer we just add days at a mod or stay off propety.

We have 145 points and getting ready to take our first dvc trip which will use all 2012 and 2013 points for a special 1 bedroom/2 bedroom trip. We will stay in a studio next yr and try for bigger accomodation the year after that. I am also contemplating getting the one time per year added 24 points for next years trip as well.

I forgot to add that my brother has 150 and a co-worker has 125 - and yes they make it work. My brother has had 150 since 2005 - no add-ons (they do not do Disney every year).

I only have 100 there's only two of us and we live in the uk so flight costs limit our visits

We have two 50 pt. BCV contracts. It's been fine for a studio or 1BR every other year. However we are now a family of 5 and with the kids getting older and bigger we stayed in a 2BR the past couple of trips. That has put us in constant borrow mode. Even had to do a small transfer to get a trip in last year and will more than likely have to do the same next year.

We will add on when the time & finances are right. My goal is four 50 pt. contracts. One to give to each kid and one for us!

As sort of a side note to this thread. I've watched it in eager anticipation of seeing all the folks that bought resales for 50 and 100 points a few years ago saying they'd bank and borrow and make it work for them in lieu of buying direct. Many of them, as I recall, saying that what they had bought was all they would ever need.

It's just interesting to observe that most of them have either gone away or have apparently added on and upgraded beyond the threshold you defined in post 1.

Like I said, just an observation.

We have well over 400 now and it never seems to be enough and we're just a family of 3. Granted, we take friends occasionally and the 2 BRs eat up points in a hurry but we only do that every 2 years or so.

We had 50 to start and now have 80. It gets us about 2 weeks in an okw studios every other year. Dh won't go more than once every other year so it works well for us. We stay in deluxe resorts for value prices this way. We have stayed at akl, bw, blt, and ssr. Perhaps someday we will actually stay at okw!
