Does anyone have either of these lenes?

DA 50-135mm

DA 50-200mm

If so what do you think of them. If not does anyone have any opinions...I am sure that some of you do. I have a Pentax K100D and am looking into these two.

I do not have either, but the DA* 50-135mm is going to be much better optically and it has f/2.8 throughout the range. They are two different classes IMO. There is supposed to be a longer reaching DA* coming out in the near future, so you might want to wait.

The 50-200mm is pretty nice although I think I'm starting to outgrow it a little. The 50-135mm is kind of on my dream list; of course, it'll cost about 4-5x what the 50-200mm did!

I would probably lean towards the 50-200mm now, take good care of it, then if you decide that you need something faster and/or sharper, eBay it or sell it on a Pentax forum.

Just this weekend, I purchased a K100D - it came with a kit lens (18-55) and the zoom (50-200). The only shots I've snapped thus far were at my daughter's first day of school, so I'm still learning.

I purchased the camera and lenses (got a great deal to get them together) based on the recommendations here - and the two posters who've answered you already. The 50-200 was recommended for taking Fantasmic! photos.

I don't know anything about the first lens you'd mentioned. I'm looking to get a 50mm F1.4 lens now so I can take SpectroMagic shots. Can anyone talk about the advantages of one over the other (remembering, I'm a newbie to the DLSR world).
