Does anyone have data on what month most resales are listed?

Hi All!

I'm a DVC wannabe and a lurker. I've been wishing to join DVC for a couple years, but just when I think we might jump in, something unexpected happens. We are Disney addicts who seem to end up in The World annually...though we don't admit it to friends and aquaintances Some folks just don't understand the addiction. And we have been spoiled by the Deluxe Resorts. My family will never allow me to book us at Pop Century ever again...I'm not sure why they are so spoiled

Our finances are looking up currently, so I have brought the idea up again to my DH and he seems agreeable. We are definitely NOT interested in purchasing directly from Disney (don't want 100-160 points and the resale market is just too good to pass up currently.) We would like to get a "starter package" of about 80 points. We are still knocking around which resort is right for us. Okay, here's my question:

I seem to remember that there are typically a good number of resales that come on the market in January since, I suppose, members receive their dues statements and people freak out about Christmas expenses and try to reduce expenses for the New Year.

Is this correct? Not that any of you are psychic, but would you expect to see more resales listed this month? I've contacted a couple resale companies, but no one currently has what we're looking for.

Not sure about time of year. It'd be good to know. I bet TSS would know...

However, as for an 80-point contract, it might be easier to find one of those at a newer resort. 80 is a little high for a typical add-on, but perfect for a split 160-point first time buyer through DVC. As far as I can tell, in general, most people didn't really push the split contracts for the earlier resorts (OKW, BCV, BWV.)

I'm not saying they are not available, I'm saying that people really started pushing it w/ SSR, AKV, &BLT.

I'd love to find resale of all three, but finding all three, at 80-points, and same specific UY? I'll be waiting for years.
