Does ANYONE have ANYTHING good to say about the Luau?

Now I'm freaking out. Thought this would be fun with our DD's we are meeting some friends with their girls too....just how bad is the food?

Can the kids just get a hot dog? my daughter has nut allergy, now I am concerned this was a mistake.

I love the Luau. I think its a great experience and the food while it is not the best I've had, its not bad. The kids can get mac n cheese, hot dog, chicken nuggets or pb&j, whatever they like.

I don't think its a mistake. I think your family will have a wonderful time and a great memory that you wouldn't be able to have too many other places.

We really enjoyed the Luau! We took our Daughter when she was 10 months old and even she loved it. Of course, the amazingly yummy fresh pineapple kept her busy!

we went a few years ago. I thought the show was OK, and the food was pretty good. My DD who is now 14, wants to go back. I think we will go again. It was fun and relaxing, and the service was great. We liked the fanfare when they brought out desert. We felt spoiled after a long hot day in a park. The show could be better, but it was still nice.

Thanks to all....read bad review in the Insider's Guide and also on some other threads. I know what to expect...I think my girls will have a blast, they eat like birds anyway. Just two weeks, yeah!

Good to hear many of you liked it. I just booked it yesterday. my kids have been to shows similar to the hddr so I think this will be more fun as it is a differnet experience for them.

The show is a little corny but in that good Disney way--a little corn won't kill you. We thought the food was just fine and we all had a fun time. We wouldn't do it every trip but we'd consider doing it again.

The dancers and fire guys are good. The stupid story is not. The food is okay, but I'm not into that kind of food and am not one to say. I have a juvenile palate and would rather have a hot dog, too.

It isn't something I like to do over and over, but when I have to go I eat before I do and just munch a little bread and drink whatever that big blue drink with the umbrellas is. It's pretty yummy...and it is blue, with umbrellas (bonus points.)
