Does anyone have any input on horse back riding at Fort Wilderness?

I am very new to all this..... We will be there in March.... I had already booked a time on Wed. at 2:30 pm. I havent seen anything about this in the posts and wondered how it was.... My kids have never been on a horse and I have only been on a horse once many many years ago... Thanks Vicki

you will be fine. Disney doesn't it even allow you to get on the horse properly....

they had trouble with a very over weight person one year.

so they built a platform - you get on and off the horse from this platform.

If you have never (or also Never) ridden a horse it is easy using their method.

if you have ridden it is a big pain.....

it is a very gentle walk.

your children must be 9 years old. their muscles aren't developed enough before then to control the horse.

WDW does not allow doubling (parent and child together on one horse).

do worries - it is fun for first timers - reasons riders should look elsewhere.

you can see deers, foxes, and other wildlife on the ride.

don't let your horse eat.....if you do, you will find that those horses can run....(someone will come behind you and hit it on the rear).
