Hi we are visiting from Australia and will be in disneyland on the 29th and 30th of October, I was hoping there might be a halloween event on then in one of the parks if there are any? If so, does anyone have any historical dates of when the parties normally fall on in oct. Thanks heaps!!

I don't have the dates from previous years, but I do remember Thurs were always on the schedule. Since Oct 30 falls on a Thurs.and it is the day before Halloween, I would think there is a good chance of a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party scheduled for that day. I don't remember any on a Wed. They usually announce the dates by June for AP holders. The event is held in California Adventures

Just checked another board and for the last three years the Halloween event was always held on the 29th, 30th and 31st. Won't know for sure until the formal announcement. Hope that helps! I myself have reservations for Oct 23 to 25, banking an event (that hopefully) will be scheduled on one of those days.

They are not just the 29th-31st. They have them every weekend beginning the end of September, I think.

Yes, they have had dates starting in Sept. in the past, but not on Saturdays. I guess the parks are too busy on Saturdays to schedule an event like this one. I'm not so sure about Sundays. It would depend if Halloween falls on that day or near that day or not. Now next year will be interesting, Halloween is on a Saturday.

Yes, they will most likely have MHT (Mickey's Halloween Treat) at DCA while you are there. They do it starting at the end of Sept/beginning of Oct and usually on Halloween night. They don't do it Saturdays but they do on Fridays. We went Friday Oct 26th last year.

Do you need to purchase tickets for the trick-or-treating in addition to the regular park admission?

THx!

Yes you will need to purchase these extra, and they sell out SUPER fast closer to Halloween from what disney cast members have said, and disney box office. Also just so there is no confusion it is called Mickeys Halloween treat, the bigger one Mickeys not so scary halloween party is at Walt Disney World.

Also, I believe it's held at DCA, just so there's no disappointment or confusion when you get there...

It is at DCA, they close the park early and only those who have the special tickets will get in. And yes, the tickets are extra and they do sell out very quickly. MHT is well worth it, my kids loved it!!

I stand corrected. Thank you Lostgirlz! I have been to both and get a little confused. One year I went to MHT on a Friday and was at MNSSHP the next Tuesday. Now that was fun. The CM at WDW were giving me double takes on the t-shirt I was wearing. They had recognized that it was not one of theirs! Got lots of questions on how as it like on the West Coast. The tickets do sell out fast, specially the dates closer to Halloween. Plan on going on Oct. 24 (hopefully there will be one scheduled on that Friday). Got reservations at the GC already. We go to GC every Oct cuz the kids have that week off.

oooooh I so want to do this when we are over next year (assuming they do it again) we will be there in October :)

Do you just order tickets off the disney website?? I'll have to make sure I stalk it next year so I get tickets :)

ooooooh this just made me get all excited again :) Halloween is something new to us as we don't celebrate it in NZ (not really).

I think you can buy them online. Go the Disneyland website (www.disneyland.com). There should be an advertisement for it on the first page. I would start checking in June. In the past they have offered them to AP's first and we bought them on online or by phone. So check here to see if anyone mentions it on this board. It is a fun event and it greats better every year. It is small compared to WDW's event, but they add more every year. Now if they would only start the same parade offered at WDW, that would be awesome.

We went to mickeys halloween treat last year and it was great! Everyone is allowed to dress up not just the kids! and you get to trick or treat! But the best part I found was that since theres not as many people it was a great way to meet with the charecters! all of them not just the ones normally in dca. I will be going again when i go in 09. Also at disneyland they have alittle thing at woody's round up, and everything is dressed up halloween style with pumpkins! And the haunted mansion is done up for nightmare b4 christmas! Its fun all the charecters are dressed up in costumes to! I only wish they had a special halloween parade or something! But it was still fun! heck disneyland is always fun :goodvibes
